It looks not bad, but kinda dated. I feel like something like this could easily have come out in the 90s.

A well oiled and tense thriller movie is always welcome to me and this appears to have all of the moving parts
It just gives me very strong 90s vibes. Like you could easily swap out Sandler for Edward Norton and tell people the film is old, and they'd believe it if they hadn't seen the trailer. Also, I don't see this type of film being given as much gravity anymore in more recent years - usually something like this has a much more comedic spin, imo.
shareOnly a few weeks ago I had a discussion about why Sandler doesn't do more serious movies instead of all those stupid comedies. He always seems to get praise for those dramatic performances.

It IS weird that he doesn't go for drama more often as he's good in those roles and he's a successful producer who makes everyone around him money...you'd think he'd get more serious scripts

sharei'm looking forward to it, mostly because it's the safdie bros. i was a big fan of good time as well, & i really like their earlier film 'daddy longlegs.'
that said, every time sandler has gone dramatic, i think he's done well & he's chosen those roles wisely, so everything points to this being a film i'll dig quite a bit.
