Sorry for my ignorance but do all Canadian's speak English and French? And is the French the same as in France or with little differences as with Canada/USA/England/Australia?

reply

Some Canadians speak both English and French, other Canadians speak only Englsih and some Canadians speak other languages as well. I don't speak French myself, just English.

reply

Quebecois french is quite a bit different than France french. It's more the slang, but I know I had some trouble when I was in France with understanding. :) There is also a difference in accents across Quebec, so even if you understand the regional french, you may have to work at the accent.

Great answer. Thanks.

Scary wildlife over your way šŸ¤Ŗ

reply

That's the reputation we have! It's not as bad as you think though, I've lived here many years and have managed to avoid all snakes, spiders, sharks, crocodiles... and a dingo has never taken my baby ;)

reply

šŸ˜. Those spiders though šŸ˜¬

reply

Do you get to see ' I'm a celebrity get me out of here ' ? That's some craziness on there!

reply

Oh you should see my brother's mailbox. It's infested with red-back spiders, he keeps spraying them and they keep coming back, he has to get his mail out with tongs!

He does live out in the country though, so you get that I suppose!

reply

Omg!

Ontario, Canada - live
Newfoundland, Canada - born

reply

I don't think I've asked you if you talk like a Newfie? I know not everyone in Newfoundland has the accent but we did get a fair number out here working in the oil patch. I love the accent.

reply

With certain words I still have an accent. I am very conscious of it even after all these years. If I am around a bunch of Newfies for awhile I start talking like them and I revert back to the accent. It never leaves you.
