Sorry, I don't believe the majority of men a) like dumb women, or b) are controlling by nature.

Has he told you that dumb women are his preference or have you just noticed a type he goes with? Maybe he just hasn't found the right one.
Don't get me wrong though, I think things like domestic violence figures show that men still have a way to go before reaching enlightenment, but I would say the MAJORITY want a partner who is an equal. I would hope so anyway. Could you imagine how exhausting it would be living your life trying to control someone else? No thanks, not for me.

But I'm not going to pussy-foot around the very real domestic violence problem. Not sure about the American figures but an average of 1 Australian woman is murdered every week by her ex or current partner. Of course not every man is a monster, I said that in my original response to this post, but those figures show that something is not right and needs addressing. I can accept that without feeling my gender is under attack.
No, what you can accept is that your gender is under attack. You're so fine with it that you post generalisations like, "domestic violence figures show that men still have a way to go..."
instead of
Domestic violence figures show that there are some men in the community who have a long way to go etc etc.

You have very effectively turned a post I made supporting men into something unnecessarily antagonistic. If you spend so much time pulling me up over the way that I mention domestic violence, perhaps there's something deeper there about the issue for you. I hope everything is ok for you.
That's better. It's always a good idea, when stating the premises to your arguments, to make sure you stick to factual data that can be verified, (one a week?). And when you begin by saying positive things about the subject, it's a good idea to avoid suddenly introducing elements that undermine that original assertion. Makes you sound wishy washy.
