'tigers are not afraid' from the mexican writer/director issa lopez was added to shudder today, & i just finished watching it.
i just posted this message on its own board, but i thought i'd share it here as well since it's in keeping with the theme of this thread.
i absolutely loved this.
the only reason this is not a 5/5 for me is because there were a few parts that i felt ought to have been really emotional that didn't quite land.
but this is really a fantastic film, truly great, and, if i can use this word without sounding too wet, really beautiful. will probably remind you of del toro at times, but is also its own unique, very powerful creation.
no one needs to listen to me, but if you think you'd like to see something that has the feel of pan's labyrinth at times, but is also its own entity, i'd highly recommend it.
