The coming death of just about every rock legend

This is depressing.

A great dying out just like the one you anticipate occurred thirty to fifty years ago of the great jazz musicians and popular singers of the 1930s through 1950s. They, too were important in the story of our music and just as well loved as these rock artists of the 1960s and 1970s. Every generation has to watch as their idols grow old and pass into history.

reply

Nobody's gonna miss Justin Bieber, hahaha.

Some more bad news:

Cat Stevens, Donovan Leitch, Gordon Lightfoot, Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Cliff, Ginger Baker, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, John McLaughlin, Carlos Santana, Joe Walsh, Robert Fripp, John Paul Jones, Mick Taylor, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Ian Anderson, John Fogerty, Iggy Pop, Joan Baez, Grace Slick, Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder

...Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins will be on the list soon.

reply

it gets worse.

reply

Little Stevie Wonder still has a few months left before 70, actually. However, Steve Winwood and Ray and Dave Davies of the Kinks you can add to the list.

wow

reply

Oh, man, I feel bad. I added Eddie Money to the list and he died the next day. Just shows how real this all is. We should enjoy these men and women and support them while we still have the chance.

reply

Anne Wilson kicks ass

reply

Coming death of many of their fans too. Just saying.

reply

I am really, REALLY astonished that so much of that crowd made it to seventy!

Keith Richards is 75. Fifty-odd years of hard partying and self-destruction and he's still alive and functioning. Who knew.

reply

He's going to outlive us all
And good for him
I admire a fellow that just doesn't care

reply

Here comes Debbie downer

reply

Canada’s big wreck is not a hard rock band

reply

Bunch of no talent bums, be glad to see the back of them...

reply

what about william hung?

reply

I'll give him a pass because I've never heard of him. No news is good news...

reply

Yes depressing, but not weird as some people have been saying. The OP merely wants to remind everyone that they're all very old. In the past, everyone has been caught completely off-guard when one kicks the bucket. Now, not so much, you've been alerted.

reply

Hell, I didn't even know Ric Ocasek of The Cars was as old as he was when he died yesterday He was older than Peter Townshend and John Fogerty. I always associated The Cars with the very late 70's and early 80's. I would have never even occurred to me he was born in the mid-1940's
