What do you think are the best game shows of all time?

What are your favorites?

For me, all the panel shows (tied): To Tell the Truth, I've Got a Secret, and What's My Line.

Family Feud definitely belongs up there, as well as Press Your Luck.

I also love Wipeout but that never caught on, unfortunately.

I liked
- Password (with Betty White and her husband)
- Split Second
- Hollywood Squares (Peter Marshall version, so urbane)
- $10,000 Pyramid, depending on who was on it
- The Newlywed Game (Bob Eubanks cracks me up)
- The Matchmaker
- The Fifth Wheel

After having seen Quiz Show, I would have watched The $64,000 question had I been alive then.

Another one that wasn't bad was Sale of the Century. I saw its first Joe Garagiola episode back in the day.

Drew Carey's Green Screen Show wasn't really a game show, but was on the Game Show Network. Excellent.

Loved Split Second back in the 70's

Yes! Not well enough remembered. In the summer used to watch it in the morning before going outside to play.

Reminds me that I also enjoyed Concentration. Probably the best game for playing along at home because not only could you try to remember where the matches were, you could try to figure out the rebus.

Don't really watch them, but as a kid I always loved Press Your Luck.

I liked it too. You may already know about this, Michael Larsen, who memorized the patterns

Yes, really enjoyed that documentary.

Interesting what became of that guy. Smart people can sure be dumb sometimes.

Double Dare!

Jeopardy and wheel of Fortune.

However, when Pat, Vanna, and Alex Trebek all leave the airwaves, I will more than likely never watch those shows again. And ultimately it comes down to the hosts. If I don't like the host, I won't watch. Which is why I haven't watched any of those stupid remakes on ABC.

There were a lot of shows I used to like when hosted by other people. The Price is Right and Family Feud come to mind. It's a shame about Family Feud because I do like Steve Harvey, I just don't like all the filthy humor on the show now. I liked the Richard Dawson years and strangely enough the ones hosted by Al from Home Improvement or J Peterman from Seinfeld.

As for the Price is Right I can only watch Bob Barker episodes. And only the ones with Dian, Holly, Janice or Kathleen as models. Furthermore I prefer Rod Roddy as announcer, but fortunately they all align for the most part. Sorry for stratifying my game show tastes!
