Have you ever purchased any products sold on TV commercials and infomercials?

Were you disappointed or happy with your purchase?

I bought some red copper cookware (a sandwich press, a small pan). I like it. It does seem to cook things well and it is easy to clean.

I'm in love with Denise Repko, but that's Copper Chef. My favorite infomercial of all time is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvTOQWOXSUY&t=2m0s

I figure if it is a good product, it will make its way to Walgreens or similar store. So I have never responded directly to an infomercial.

Only two "As Seen on TV" products I have ever purchased. The Ped Egg and Pipcorn, the latter from Shark Tank. The Ped Egg is a good product but overpriced even at $10. Pipcorn was not a great product, I never bought again.

As to regular TV ads, I am a loyal Tide user. Unless it's not on sale :)

I bought mine in Rite Aid. They have a section with “As Seen on TV Products”

I bought a wok from an ad by calling the 1-800 number. Lol. Wok was decent, but not easy to store in my tiny apartment kitchen at the time.

In the late 90’s I bought a Sobokowa pillow made of 100% buck wheat husk off of a TV commercial as a joke. At the time I was as doing a lot of camping and would sleep on the ground for several nights in a row. Needless to say everyone was jealous of my pillow.

Is that Jenilee Harrison? No one in the comments asks.

reply

Pretty sure that is her. She was on a bunch of informercials back in the day. I remember one for some workout product where it looked like she had crazy lip implants and her speech was affected by it as well.

reply

I remember one she did with Chef Tony for The Ultimate Chopper. I bet you didn't know that she speaks fluent German.

reply

Hahahahahaha I did not know that...bet Chrissy and Terri can't do that! Janet maybe...

reply

Was she in a sitcomb? I vaguely remember her being on tv in the 90s

Nevermind, looked her up. She replaced Suzanne Somers on Three’s Company. So that puts her heyday back in the 70s. The 80s must have been tough for her to end up in 90s infomercials. Acting is a sucky career. Stay in school kids.

reply

Think she probably joined Threes Company in the early 80s and was on Dallas after so her heyday would've been early to mid-80s. Doesn't make it a much better story of course lol

I bought a kitchen knife that could cut through shoe soles and coca cola cans as demonstrated on TV 10/10

Nutri-Bullet 10/10

Love it. It's a miracle! It's still available on Amazon. The woman standing to his far right (with the white lapels) is Nancy Nelson.

Popeil and Arnold Morris are first cousins. Morris recently passed away and is perhaps best known for his Six Star Knives Infomercial.

reply

I don't remember ever getting anything good.

I still have my George Foreman indoor electric grill, the original, very basic model I think I purchased in the early 90s. I use it infrequently and it still works great.

reply

It knocks out the fat.

reply

It was touted as The Lean,Mean, Fat Grilling Machine !
