I hope Universal reverses their decision about "The Hunt."

Like how Disney eventually came to their senses about James Gunn.

They will
That movie cost a ton of dough, they wont shelve it forever

The whole issue seems really silly, it's just an entertaining looking thriller...

Fake empathy on the producer's part imo

Don't count on it. The movie portrays leftists as murderers. This movie will never reach the big screen.

Money trumps all other considerations in Hollywood
Look for it in 4 months in a theatre near you and a month later streaming

i'm not sure. i suspect this film will never get a theatrical release in north america. the studio & distributors probably will feel the political pain & negative publicity will overwhelm whatever gross they make.

i suspect the best case scenario is that it will get quietly dumped onto a streaming service some point. i wouldn't even be surprised if they hold off on doing that if they feel the blow-back they might suffer would be severe enough.

i could see them trying to release it in the rest of the world though, perhaps with the hope that it will garner a bit of publicity as the film that was too controversial to be released in trump's america.
