Is There As Specific Film Subject That You Just Don't Like?

Movies about centuries-old aristocracies.

reply

No, it's all how it's about something.

People dying of a dreaded disease type dramas...Philadelphia comes to mind
I can't watch that stuff

I'm not wild about Rom Coms either

reply

To this day I would prefer not to see Philadelphia again. It’s just too much.

reply

Westerns and war pictures, especially WW2.

reply

Are there any WWII films you have liked?

reply

Maybe The Great Escape and Stalag 17. But I like them precisely because they're not the typical WWII military movie. The Great Escape is less about WW2 than it is a prison escape movie, and Stalag 17 is a comedy and mystery.

reply

Worry not... instead of WW 2, WW 1 movies are on the rage now.

reply

Haunted house movies. I can already imagine all the supposedly "scary" scenes. Most probably involving lights on and off really quickly and doors closing itself. Sigh.

reply

Good point
It feels like it's all been done in this genre...I'll still give one a go every so often but not with high hopes

Teen scream.

reply

sure. though i think in the right hands, any topic can be made interesting.

but i am pretty much continuously bored by:

period dramas
westerns
anything remotely resembling a romance or romantic comedy

there are certain kinds of movies in those genres that i've greatly enjoyed, but for the most part i would rather do anything else other than watch one of them.

reply

I usually don't go for any film that's been made to capitalize on a hot button issue of the moment.
