what are your favorite movies of 2019 so far

I havent seen many, But Mine are

1. Avengers Endgame-9.2/10(IMO has the greatest last hour in CBM history)
2. Alita: Battle Angel-9/10(IMO one of the most underrated Movies I've ever seen)
3. Polar-8/10(Netflix film, But I enjoyed it)
4. John Wick Parabellum-8.5/10
5. Spider-Man: Far from Home-8/10
6. Hellboy-6.5/10(Purely Fun, Not Good)
7. Us-7/10(Great 1st hour but completely falls apart, I've never seen a movie without any ANSWERS like this)
8. Captain Marvel-7.5/10
9. Glass-7/10(IMO maybe the worst ending ever, truly a shame)
10. Shazam-7/10(Completely average)

Overall I was most surprised by Alita BA....I didnt see this coming...I was completely stunned watching that movie, I cant believe its got the consensus it does...I fully convinced had the exact movie been made the way it was and had A HUGE name for a director like Nolan, Cameron or Spielberg it would be looked at as a truly great film(IMO)

letterboxd tells me i've seen 47 2019 films so far.

1 climax
2 apollo 11
3 avengers endgame
4 midsommar
5 rolling thunder review
6 under the silver lake
7 dragged across concrete
8 wrestle
9 high life
10 relaxer

i really enjoyed far from home - it's just outside my top 10, but that mysterio warehouse scene where he throws all the illusions at spiderman is one of my top movie moments of the year. i want to catch up with polar & alita at some point.

it's been a slightly disappointing year for me, in that nothing's really come along & surprised me, blind-sided me with its greatness the way 8th grade or the rider did last year. not that i haven't seen plenty of movies i've enjoyed...but that there hasn't been something that's really surprised me yet.
