What's your box office prediction for The Lion King's opening weekend?
I predicted $150M in the opening weekend but the disappointing reviews make me feel like it's going to drop considerably. I predict around $80M.
shareI really don't understand why people are kicking this movie around, the trailer looked really good and it's quite a fine cast of voices, but I admit I never paid attention to the original despite playing it 400 times for my kids...
With a budget reportedly far North of $175 million it better have a box office smashing opening weekend!
Your $80M prediction sounds pretty fair and I'd wager that it will kill in Asia where Hollywood makes most of it's money anyway

The reviews are saying it's almost a shot for shot remake and they play every single song from the original. It's half an hour longer so I'm guessing that's where the new songs come in.
