One student in New Spider-Man was 31

The asian guy into MJ. He was born 86. Reme Hi. Are there no actual teenagers or even people in their 20s who could have played this small role?

What movie?

reply

I think they are talking about Spider-Man: Far from Home.

reply

Opps I was on the wrong forum. Title clarified.

reply

no idea

I thought it was even more of a stretch that his neighborhood lothario dad was played by Clint Howard. Once they broke into that 20 minute musical number in the pizza parlor, though, I was sold.

reply

Balok?

reply

I'm sure there are, but it is not unusual to have older actors play teens.

reply

It seems strange. Like is this guy friends with someone? He is young looking but he did stand out as obviously not 16. MJ and Spiderman do. The Asian friend Neds doesn't look highschool anymore but he did more so when hired, so I can see why he is sticking around.

reply

Malcolm MacDowell was 25 in If...(1968)

reply

He's an undercover agent from 21 Jump Street.

reply

nerdy asian guys are hard to cast

reply

He's an attractive asian. Probably half white.

Horror movie casting departments are absurd as well
I can't count how many 30 year old High School teens I've seen sliced and diced but it's a considerable number

Then there's Ian Ziering from Beverly Hills 90210 who's hairline was surrendering faster than the Maginot Line...that dude must have been dumb, he was a High School Senior into his late 20s!

A reasonable 'suspension of disbelief' is mandatory for some of these entertainments but damn...it's not always easy
