“It's true that GW Bush had the lowest popular votes (39%) of any sitting president, and Ross Perot gathered a popular vote of almost 20%. Bill Clinton got almost forty five percent (45%). It's very possible that Perot played spoiler, and the world would be much better off had he withdrawn, and GW Bush had been reelected, even though Perot got no electoral votes.
As it is, Bill Clinton gave Osama bin Laden new life by allowing Sandy Burger, the national security advisor to disallow missiles to be launched against him when a drone had discovered him in 1998, at a training base in Afghanistan. Had he executed a shoot order, bin Laden would have been dead, and 9/11 plans would have stopped without the terrorist leader there to finance it.”
You got your NAFTA. Clinton carried out the Bush agenda even better than Bush himself.
shareI didn’t want NAFTA! I don’t care what the powers that be say....it killed jobs and industry. I can’t begin to tell you how disgusted I am when looking at the tag or stamp “Made in ***”. Take your pick...it sure won’t be the USA!
shareYou really want to lay this all on Clinton v G-H!-WB? You can't possibly think some war hawk like GHWB would have taken a more sensible course. I respect GHWB but I figure both pols would have followed a similar course. It's the rethugs who came later that made everything much more toxic and dangerous.
