What you don't like about summer?
Sweating. Oh, and mosquitoes.
shareThe sleep conundrum. You know, that thing where you lie down to sleep, but it's too hot to sleep with a blanket. But you feel shit without one, so you use the lightest one you have, toss it to the side, retrieve it, toss it, etc. And you toss and turn and can't get comfortable, and you eventually end up passing out in a sweaty, exhausted daze and wake up more tired than when you laid down.
shareThis ⤴️😆
shareThe heat. I'm low on energy as it is, and the heat zaps what I've got right out of me. Harder to sleep because of it, too.
sharerelentless, endless, grinding heat.
the stench of rotting garbage.
i loathe summer. too hot, too sweaty, too smelly, too many mosquitoes.
that said, i do a lot of biking, & i enjoy the chance to get out and go for long rides. i can't do that in the winter, obviously.
but i much prefer doing my biking in the spring or fall, not when i feel like i have a furnace blowing humid hot air on me.
Ooo, stench of garbage. Add that to my list. Walked passed some bins this morning and had to hold my breath and run.
shareMy room gets really hot in the summer and I'll wake in the middle of the night when it's really uncomfortable and nothing can be done about it. Even a fan doesn't do much.
I also hear about other people doing all kinds of activities while I'm stuck alone. At least during the winter I don't get the feeling everyone is giddy with excitement.
Since I've lived in Miami since 1982, I can take the heat, the humidity and the high electric bills that come with having the air conditioning running 36 hours a day.
But after getting smashed by Andrew in 1992 and enduring the triple feature of Katrina, Rita and Wilma in 2005, the constant worrying about hurricanes really begins to wear you down. I mean, it's only mid-July, which means that we all know that the worst is yet to come.
