do you blind buy many discs? ie without having seen the film?
Good question; I buy more DVDs because I go to the used store and get them 4/10 bucks. Blu-rays are more expensive but I do get them when I think it’s worth it.
I don’t know how many Blu-rays I have but my collection of movies is right now at 1644 and only maybe 10% are blu-rays.
Unless I really loved a movie, I mostly buy movies I haven’t seen right now because for me it’s like the replacement of going to the video store to rent movies. What I mean is; why would I pay seven dollars to rent two movies when I can buy 4/10$? Okay, they are not new release and they are used but right now, I own over 200 movies I never saw. So when I want to watch a movie instead of going to the video club I go in my library and pick one I haven’t seen yet. unless I want to rewatch something. When I’m really disappointed in the new acquisition I bring them back today used store and they give me like $.50 for it

Good Lord man ! For the amount of $$ you have spent on movies, you could have wiped out Childhood Hunger, at least somewhere. Just teasing but that's a Lot of movies and sounds like a LOT of $$. I'm guessing it's at least $5K.

shareI have about 300 vinyl LPs and an equivalent number of CDs. Also a lot of Cassette Tapes but were home burners so they don't count. But there have been times when I wondered if this was the best use of my spare $$.
Still, I'm not sure if the most thrifty among us has led a richer life than those who enjoyed their hobbies or passions. Likely they haven't.
Yes and keep in mind: having a family for 5 years now, movies are my hobby instead of going out with the boys every week-end so I actually spend less now than then. Plus I have 0 debt except the house and the car which I always pay on time.
shareYeah, I pay all my bills on-time too. But for some crazy reason, my Credit Card debt keeps going up, (haha).
I can pay some bills on Credit, but my income doesn't keep up. Oh well. I don't really have to worry about anyone else but myself, so if I have some debt over my head, ... whatever ! Haha !
I would never impugn how you spend your earnings. Just makes me think about my own decisions. Heck, if I saved every Nickel I ever made, I'd have a whole lot of Nickels !
