I have a pretty solid home theater setup, projector, 135” screen and surround and I treat my movie days/nights as very special events and I try to treat myself to something different every time but I keep coming back to Goodfellas. There is something addicting and extremely rewatchable about it. Anyone else? What is it? Very tightly edited, excellent music choices, top notch acting and some very intense sequences.
shareSimple answer: It's amazing. One of my all time favorites. It never gets old. Great story, acting, dark humor, suspense. Just has it all. Still can't believe it lost to Dances With Wolves for Best Picture. All due respect to Costner, but no way in hell is his film anywhere the level of Goodfellas.

shareI don't own the movie, but it's very easy to get into whenever it's on tv. The story is interesting and the characters entertaining. I think the quick editing and pace makes it also easy to just go along with the story.

shareI don't share your extreme love of Goodfellas, which I do like, but I can understand the love of re-watching a movie. It's the same as re-reading a favourite novel. You're getting something out of it every time, which you need right now.
