Which row and seat in the movie theater do you prefer to have?

My ideal spot is the row in the middle where the seats in front of you are normally a bit further away so you have extra space, i also want to have the seat at one of the ends so you can quickly find your place before the movie starts and won't have to be crammed in between two people and can also easily get out of there first if a fire or something else happens.

Back row center. Nobody in back of me kicking my seat.

reply

That is a good point. I had some retarded kid doing that to me once. I expected he would ruin the whole movie experience if i didn't say something but he quit after like 10 minutes luckily.

reply

I always pick the front middle.

reply

I don't think i ever sat at the first row. Always seemed too close to me.

reply

I was once forced to sit in the second row from the front. Major neck pain.

reply

I can imagine.

reply

Me too - arrived late and had to take a seat in the very front row -- hurt my neck to crane upward! Don't like the very front at all.

reply

I even do it in IMAX and Dolby Surround Sound, which is my favorite.

reply

You never get neck problems?

reply

No.

reply

It's not as uncommon as I would have thought because I often see seats in the front row reserved in advance, even when the theater isn't close to being fully booked.

reply

I feel i should try it sometime, but i also don't wanna risk ruin the experience if the movie ends up being great.

reply

I'm usually pretty secluded. The theater is often filled.

reply

I saw Born on the 4th of July sitting in the front row 😳. Not my preference! All the other seats were taken.

Same as you, end seats in the middle section, halfway back. Unless the theatre's empty, in which case middle/middle.

reply

A empty theater changes things a bit, i didn't consider that, if that happened then probably a few rows closer in the middle.

reply

I like the aisle seat in the middle row.

reply

I’m so sad, I have a list of all my favourite seats for each of the screens in all my local multiplexes.

reply

Nothing wrong with that :-D

reply

It’s sounds a bit like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory though.

reply

Now that you mention it.

reply

You’re in my seat.

reply

Actually if you really were like Sheldon it would just end with your friends going to to the theater while you stay at home because "that was the only option" XD

reply

I don't feel so bad now, lol.

reply

Glad to hear.

reply

When I was younger, always back row. Especially before stadium seating.

Now I like middle as the surround sound is calibrated for this position.

reply

I like to sit dead center at about 75% of the distance between the screen and the back of the theater. In my local theater, that puts me in the third row from the back.

Fortunately, my theater has those new recliner seats and extra deep rows, so you can walk clear across the row without anyone needing to move out of the way.

reply

In the middle of the middle.

reply

Dead center. Optimum surround sound. And I like my screen looks huge.
