Would you pay to go see a movie if you could watch it in bed?

For me, nope. I'd probably fall asleep and get thrown out for snoring.

Can you imagine taking a date to the movies here? Hmm.

There's a small indie cinema in my town that has couches and comfortable chairs, but not beds.

I've heard there are movie theaters like that, and some that have tables and serve food and drinks, too.

Those kind of cinemas have been popular in SE Asia for decades.

I'm not for this or the cushy chair/menu theater movement.

I dont go to the movies for any of that.

Same with sporting events and luxury boxes.

That's where I am. The standard chairs/seats are good enough.

One big upside to the theaters that have reclining chairs is that they are usually built with rows so spacious that you can walk from the center of a row to the end without anyone needing to get up to let you pass.

I want a cinema that has like little private stalls around each seat so the rest of the audience won't be able to annoy you.

I've tried once. It's actually quite comfortable. Problem is that the concept of the theater at the time was that they also serve dinner, not only pop corns or tacos, but steaks and fried chickens, etc. So the room smelled like restaurant. It was bizzare.
