Louis CK is a brilliant stand up, it’s bs that he’s been blacklisted

Just because of the current climate not even someone as tremendously talented as him can survive what in the grand scheme of things will be remembered as a relatively minor incident.

reply

Totally agree with you. But why aren't you posting on his page on MC?

reply

Movies and actors have their own individual message boards like IMDB used to have?

reply

Yes. Here is Louis CK's board:

He’ll be back.

Unfortunately, people only speak up when its "their" side. I hate censorship of all kinds. And I don't mind getting rid of Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes issue of yelling "FIRE" at a crowded theater (What crowded theaters?) – let them yell. I don't want some bullshitty safeguard between me and someone else.

The guy trapped women and made them watch him masturbate. I'm not sure its the current political climate as it is something that probably deserves SOME kind of pushback.
Its not as if he was just caught being non-PC, the guy actually did some pretty lewd stuff.

SARAH SILVERMAN THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY.

reply

*mocking voice*
"Sarah Silverman thought it was funneeee"
Did she? DID SHE??

Lol did she really?

reply

I know right. You could fill tomes with all the shit that doesn't offend Sarah Silverman!

reply

That doesn't prove much. She's an idiot.

😒

reply

The punishment should be:
1) he's not allowed to do that anymore,
2) therapy and/or prison as necessary,
3) that's it.
Not allowing anyone to see his movie punishes us, not him.

B I N G O !

I can see your point of view. But as far as him personally being blacklisted, I don't think that's the case anyway. He'll be back..he's already been testing the waters some, as of a couple months ago anyway.

What movie? They're really not going to release some finished movie?

You think if he did 60 minutes or something, to win back the trust of some and try to put it behind him. what would be a good vehicle for that? ya know, damage control, is it too soon?

reply

I think it's all about the timing, let some of these lawsuits cool off for better and for worse.

reply

I Love You, Daddy -- it was supposed to hit theaters in 2017, but the distributor dropped it. It was already finished, yeah.

reply

I have that movie. Just haven't saw it yet.

reply

He trapped women and made them watch him? That's not what I read.

reply

Me neither. My understanding is that he would ask these woman if they'd mind if he masterbated in their presence. If they said no, he wouldn't do it. Now the behavior seems abnormal but if it was just one guy asking his female friend to do this, and accepting rejection, there should really be no issue. I believe the problem is he ultimately did this to women who may have been working on projects where he was a producer or in some other position of power. I can see why women find this behavior disgusting (because it is).

But I also feel bad for C.K. because A) I can see how he may have just lost track of how this behavior had gotten out of control and may have not realized how wrong he was. And B) unlike the vast majority of those accused of various degrees of sexual misconduct, C.K. admitted his behavior and (imo opinion) sincerely apologized for it. He didn't call anyone a liar or try to BS his way out of it. Say what you will about what he did but to me it says a lot about him that he was willing to own up.

The public shame as well as loss of numerous projects he had been working on seems to be a punishment he accepted. But at what point does society decide he's served his penance? Is what he did worth lifelong exile? As a fan of him as a truly gifted comedian, I personally hope not.

reply

He just performed here in Rotterdam, Holland last week. No idea how many people attended his show.

reply

I just put you on

Ignore

easy on the trigger

He ignores all of the dudes
and slavishly drools over the ladies...it's his thing

He's a 'warrior' don't 'ya know and his lats are super sculpted👍

reply

I have wondered that myself. Soon there won't be anyone else to ignore.

They could easily punish him without punishing us, he will always have that stain on his reputation, I think that along with some legal repercussions possibly would be sufficient.

Roman Polanski raped an underage girl, what CK did was unacceptable but why punish us?

reply

because Meryl Streep stood up and cheered loudly (and for Weinstein).... People like her don't believe in anything except money and online prostitution.
