Even worse than being paralyzed from the neck down is being paralized from the neck down AND incapable of speech. How Stephen Hawking didn't kill himself is a miracle of it's own let alone becoming one of the greatest scientist of all time.
shareIt happened gradually to him though. He said he didn't need his body because he could travel anywhere he wanted in his mind. Crazy thing is his doctors told him in 1963 he had 2 years left to live. Besides from everything else he is also a medical miracle. By all means he should've been gone decades ago but lucky for the scientific world he was more stubborn than anyone could've predicted.
shareHow that man could find the most unbelievably determined wife is also a miracle. When the doctors said that her husband is all paralized and the only littlest glimmer of hope he has is speech but then they need to take that away too...
Doctors was like, just let him go. What does it mean to live in that condition. I mean, seriously, it's probably worse than death. But this woman said no! He has to live! No matter what, he has to live!
I cried when I watch the scene in the movie.
We should all feel proud to have lived in the era of Professor Hawking :-)
