There was one with a bald guy who was a plumber as his day gig. I liked him, and the show. Don't remember what it was called. He and his team were low key, always first tried to find a logical non-paranormal explanation first, and seemed like they genuinely wanted to help people whose houses they went to investigate.
Then there was a second I didn't like at all. HUGE ego, a real jerk, macho drama queen. He'd scream things like I'M GOING TO PROVOKE THE DEMON! COME AND GET ME YOU #@$%^!" 🙄 Stupid hyped up show. Don't remember the name of that show either, but I expect one or the other was called Ghost Hunters.
I've seen a few episodes of that 'ghost hunter' show...funny stuff!
It's pretty amazing that several of those guys are actually married...What woman would put up with a big dummy that runs off to a different state every weekend to jump at shadows?!?
'Honey, there has been a spectral sighting in Connecticut so I'm taking a long weekend with my buddies to investigate...please maintain the house, watch the kids and mow the lawn...'

'Honey, there has been a spectral sighting in Connecticut so I'm taking a long weekend with my buddies to investigate...please maintain the house, watch the kids and mow the lawn...'"
Well, when you put it like that 😂
But the big bald one seems like a really decent guy, so if he's one of the married ones, his wife is pretty lucky. Even with him heading out to do investigations on long weekends and her having to now the lawn and trim the hedges.
So I just looked the guy up, his name is Jason Hawes and yes, he seems like a nice enough dude and apparently he believes in ghosts:/
It's pretty absurd behavior for a grown man to leave his family to go gallivanting about the country chasing silly stories
Something seems amiss with Jason...he seems a nice fellow but all of that energy would be better spent on the wife, the kids and the property
Some people never grow up
Well, no doubt you'll think something's amiss with me too, because I saw a ghost in the house I grew up in. In fact, I didn't know what he was and don't remember the first time I saw him, so assume I always did. To me he was just this man who was sometimes there and sometimes not, and didn't speak. But I was very little, the whole world was new to me, so I just accepted it without question and figured everyone saw him. Until I found out they didn't 😄
But I get it'd be very difficult for people who haven't had an experience like this to believe it. For those who have, it's like "What am I going to believe, you or my lying eyes?" I rarely talk about this for obvious reasons.
Thank you, Shogie, and back at you. Except make that a gentleman ;)
You did? I've never seen one, but my brother and his GF did. He tends to be a skeptic, so I believe him.
I accept there are things we don't yet have explanations for, whether I personally have experienced them or not.
And sure, there are people who are cons out there, which makes it even more difficult to figure out what's real and what's a fake. Like the video Db posted. Could that have been a person in a black bodysuit and mask, who then hid in another part of the basement that the guy shooting it didn't show? Yes. Only the guy who made the video knows for sure.
In fairness and to maintain objectivity, I played the same scenario in my mind you suggested. Also, this clip is somewhat out of context. If seen along with his interview on the program where I saw it, his credibility is increased. Also, the phenomenon of "shadow people" is fairly common. Many of these types of incidents have by now been caught on camera.
I've heard of shadow people before, but haven't experienced this. I don't know what to make of this phenomena, just like I don't know what to make of a lot of things people experience. As I said upthread, I have to leave room for what others experience and I haven't. There are *lots* of things I haven't experienced, even in the regular, mundane world.
Offhand, I can't remember the name of the program but it was within the last couple of weeks and this clip immediately stood out for me as the most recent example. I have experienced seeing these things and like you with your ghost story, this is only the second time I've ever admitted it. The only thing that is different for me in this instance is that he associated a lot of noise with the apparition.
You've seen these shadow people? Wow. I've never known anyone who has before now. From the outside, it seems like it'd be a disturbing experience. Was it? I'm thankful mine never was.
I wonder WTH these things are, including ghosts. I spent years researching ghosts, trying to find out but never have come up with anything conclusive, just theories that make the most sense to me.
I suspect more people than not have had experiences that are currently inexplicable, and most don't talk about them.
Yes, they're very creepy but I actually got to a point where I became somewhat used to them. My last encounter, about eight years ago, came on the heels of a significant death in my family. I don't know if that means anything or not. I'm just grateful I no longer see them.
It's great you were able to get to the point where you were somewhat used to them, and even better there haven't been more of these experiences for the past 8 years!
I would love to know what these things are, and why some people see some things, while others see other things, and some see none. I can't think of any event that might be related to my experience. As far as I know, I always saw him.
There are conflicting theories. They're often confused with ghosts. Naturally, because of my personal experiences, I did some research. I learned that they seem to like inciting fear, something I'm inclined to agree with. I think as far as detecting them, it's all about a heightened sensitivity. Has anyone else ever seen the persistent ghost that you have?
I appreciate the condolence. I'm okay with that although I must admit the deaths of both of my parents ( Dad was a Veteran) are very much on my mind on this Memorial Day, as during every other year.
All of these things are no doubt somehow related. I just don't know how.
Agree it's about some kind of sensitivity. To my knowledge no one else saw him. I went back to the house and spoke to the current owners, asking as diplomatically as I could if anyone had noticed anything unusual. The person I spoke to said no.
My father was also a vet, and I lost both of my parents a couple of years ago, so I understand.
15 years ago or so (wow time flies) me and a few friends would drink and watch one of them (I think it was called Most Haunted). Mainly we would ad lib and laugh our asses off at how ridiculous a lot of it was. The funny thing is reality shows about pawn shops and house hunters have to cheat by using actors and scripted scenes so how on earth can anything that happens on a paranormal reality show be trusted?
There was a really cool show here in Austalia called Scream Test around 2000. It was like a supernatural survivor where they take a group I people to a spooky location and isolate them. They then play noises or not, they claimed that some of the noise heard weren't of their own creation. Anyway the last one still in the place at the end won.
Couldn't get into Ghost Hunters they kept talking about plumbing and it seemed like they didn't want to find anything.
Was a fan of macho jerk also known as Ghost Adventures for a while. It was spooky and fun even though I knew they were faking stuff.
Then they changed the format and the show really started to suck.
Also tried watching Paranormal Lockdown but every ghost seemed to call out their names even though the playback just sounded like noise.
Although there was one hilarious part where the guy Nick heard coyotes and left the chick for dead as he ran away lmao.
