When a song you dig randomly shows up in a movie

I love it when that happens. Most recently, Moby's "Mistake" made an appearance in the movie "The Next Three Days." Not sure how I missed this movie considering it was released way back in 2010.

Looking at the soundtrack, they used a few Moby songs in the movie.

Not a film but a car ad down here is using "Holy Diver" by Dio which amazed me a bit given it is an old song and not well known outside of metal circles.

Great song
Dio is still in my regular rotation
Top metal talent

Just yesterday I was thinking about a woman who was a bartender. When she told me how much her job paid per hour (including tips) I was stunned. So yesterday I was talking with a different female 'tender and she works two jobs and gets to keep a certain amount of her tips but also has to give a % to the cook. So I'm thinking about the first tender and the song Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac comes on the radio.

Rhiannon is the name of the woman I was thinking of.

I love Jane Siberry's song Calling All Angels, and was surprised and pleased when it showed up in Wim Wenders' Until the End of the World.

I really liked that soundtrack. Lou Reed, REM, Depeche Mode, Nenah Cherry, Julee Cruise, U2....

I will admit that I bought the soundtrack when it came out without seeing the movie. I didn't see it until about 10 years ago.

a little while back i caught a straight to netflix film that i'm blanking on the title of, & i thought it was fine, quite enjoyed it - but they played wire's 'ahead' over the credits, & that made me like it approximately 38% more.
