Something you probably have too many of?

I probably have too many clocks. There's at least one in every room in my house, including the laundry room. The kitchen has three, if you count the ones on the radio and microwave. I prefer analog clocks, so I have a wall clock in each room. In the bedrooms, wall clock plus digital alarm clock. Hmm. πŸ•™

Socks

reply

Can anyone have too many socks?? Sometimes I think I need more, but then I realize I probably just need to do laundry. πŸ˜’

reply

I have a quirky sock collection. I'm running out of space for them all.

reply

Quirky socks? They're fun. I used to have a few pairs of them, about ten pairs, I think. I always made sure to wear a quirky pair on my bowling league nights. It became a thing with my teammate to see which pair I wore that night.

reply

I just got rid of a whole lot of them and I still have over 60 pairs.

reply

60 pairs? After clearing some out? Um, yeah, that is quite a few.

reply

I only wear sneakers so I have a lot of those little white socks that I buy at CVS or some shoe stores.

reply

Sperms.

reply

Too bad they're all inactive. Oh, snap!

reply

I don't really know what that means but it's very possible XD

reply

Around 100,000 per man, apparently.

reply

Proves my point :-)

reply

I have zero

reply

I guess i don't XD

One is too many, especially if it's a big one. 😬

reply

I have over a 110 CDs. Many I never listen to.

reply

Uh oh. I'm guilty of this one, too.

reply

reply

I don't even have one. 😊

reply

I have way more than that.

Antiques
To be specific I collect old airguns and knives, tools, fishing tackle and farming equipment..anything to do with agriculture or outdoor sports is right up my alley
My garage, barn and basement are full to the rafters with old rusty stuff and my wife is none too pleased😬

I recently got a boy scout canteen that must be 50 years old, a heavy iron plumbers wrench with a cool wooden handle and a license plate from 1924

I can't stop buying mantiques!

reply

A fifty-year-old boy scout canteen? Must have been my brother's! πŸ˜‰ Is your stuff displayed or is it just shoved on to shelves, hanging on hooks, etc? Displayed is cool. Shoved in anywhere - not cool. I still have a few license plates - a 1974 one from my very first car, one each from when I lived in AZ and FL.

reply

A lot of my rusty mess is displayed out in the barn, my garage is honestly a jumble and the basement trinkets are mostly small and boxed up...I have a compulsion to own these things, I never said I was a pro curator!😬

reply

We all have our compulsions. I feel for Mrs Shogie, though.

reply

Mrs. Shogun is a saint married to a big dummy!

reply

I have a couple of cool old tools I got from an ex-GF, and I saw plenty of interesting tools at the Habitat For Humanity Restore. People donate all kinds of interesting stuff.

reply

I've heard good things about Habitat for Humanity...sounds like a good cause

reply

Darn I wish I had known that Shoggie. I would have given you my brother’s Lionel train set w/oil derrick, his red Radio Flyer Wagon and Schwinn bike! πŸ₯°

reply

That's exactly the sort of stuff I buy!

reply

I have 4 calendars in my townhouse. I think one calendar should be enough.

reply

Are they all for the current year? Some calendars have such nice pictures that it's a bit of a shame to toss them out.

reply

Yep, they are all for the year 2019. I have one calendar in each of my two bedrooms and two calendars in my kitchen...

reply

Kind of like my clock situation. Are they all wall calendars? I have just one, in my kitchen, and that's all I can fit on my kitchen walls. Everything else is cabinets, windows, doorways, or the old ice box, which takes up a lot of space on the window wall.

reply

Yes, they are all wall calendars.

reply

They're the best kind - one quick look and you can see everything that's on there.

reply

But, you have to walk into the kitchen. I just open my iPad; it’s joined to my hip!

reply

I don't have an iPad - just a laptop. Yes, I have a smartphone now, but I use it for calls and texts to my kids. That's pretty much all, so it's usually on the end table or on the kitchen counter. I'd have to get up anyway. Besides, I still write appointments on my wall calendar.

reply

I agree. :)

My mom began buying me (back in β€˜88 for our new home) the beautiful Victorian wall calendars for each Christmas. The last one she bought me was for Christmas in 2003. She died in August 2004. I left that calendar hanging showing August 2004 until I sold our home in 2014.
