Do you ever worry about?
Someone trying to break into your house? My mom is and always wants me to have our door locked!
shareSomeone trying to break into your house? My mom is and always wants me to have our door locked!
shareWhenever I go out of town overnight or on vacation I think about it. I live in the country and if someone really wanted to break in locked doors would not stop them.
shareI don't really worry about it, but your mom isn't wrong to be concerned and I agree that keeping the door locked is a smart move.
shareI'll put it this way, I tend to be more vigilant during the warmer months and keep an eye on the neighborhood because there's a substantial amount of foot traffic through it late at night. I do notice weird and suspicious activity sometimes. One night, I spotted a guy peeking through a neighbor's bedroom window. It was especially creepy because she was an old woman in her 70s. I came up behind him with a club in my hand, scared the crap out of him and chased him off.
shareYou're a one man neighborhood watch!
God job db...probably a pervert or something
I got into that habit a long time ago, Sho.
Another time, in a different neighborhood, I witnessed a carload of punks trashing a neighbor's beautiful Mercury Cougar. I chased after them also, trying to get their tag number but they were a little too fast for me. I did call the police. The cop said, "Bastards! It's been going on all over town."
Damaging vehicles for 'kicks' is the domain of punks and drunks
They should get a few weeks in County and charged repairs for screwing with someone's transportation to work in the morning
They used to hang horse thieves for a reason
Like I said Sho, that car was beautiful, a showpiece. My neighbor worked for a major, local dealership and it was just on loan to her. That incident led to her eventually losing her job.
shareWell that's awful
Damn, too bad her boss couldn't overlook it and go the insurance route and be done
I hope the Police got these guys
Yes I do, I agree with your Mom on this
I lock up all the first floor windows and doors, even during warm weather and make sure our cars are locked as well
Can't be too careful
I've had my house broken into. It's a horrible thing to walk into. Even though I've had that happen I don't fear it. We do lock doors at night and when we aren't home. I do live in a neighbourhood now where everyone looks out for each other, which is nice.
shareI have a security system. If anyone tried to break in the police would be there in a matter of minutes.
