How was your day?

Glory be! We hit 79° today with plenty of sunshine! A top-10 weather day, for sure. Two of my granddaughters came for a visit that lasted most of the day. We walked up to the library, picked out quite a few books, and then walked to the playground at a nearby lake. When we got home we sat outside and read our books. It was a great day to be outside!

I got to sleep in again, played computer, walked the dog, got birthday and Easter supplies with dad in town, and we celebrated mom's birthday a day early with a fancy dinner at Red Lobster. Now we gotta go and sing for 6 services at our church tomorrow on mom's real birthday.

reply

Sounds like a day well spent and Happy Birthday to mom!

reply

Sleeping in! 👍👍👍 Bliss. It doesn't happen often enough, does it?

reply

Not with my school schedule, but it's not the worst school schedule I've had.

reply

It was about 70 here too
To my extreme shock both of my leaf blowers pooped out on me and I couldn't find my big rake...I had to knock on the neighbor's door to borrow his gear

Took two days but the yard looks quite tidy!

reply

Two leaf blowers went to that "great raking field in the sky?" Someone's trying to tell you something, although I have no idea what that might be. One of my neighbors had her power mower out today. My first thought was, "who the heck thinks it's time to cut the grass already?" But I soon realized that she was mulching the leftover leaves from last fall. Made sense then.

reply

I mowed yesterday too
And blasted the yard with a backpack blower today...The entire property MUST be presentable;)

God Forbid the The Jones' get ahead of me!

Our snow hasn't been gone long enough for the grass to grow. Everything is still mostly brown. We had some rain a couple of days ago that helped get rid of it, but not enough to make things green. Shouldn't be long, though. Today's warm weather was such a nice gift to us winter-weary folk.

reply

The bleak/brown look gets very tiresome
I like the brown woods for hunting and fishing but otherwise not at all

reply

It does. I can't wait to see the leaves pop. I'm going to have to do some repair work to the "pet spots" from Bailey. Not thrilled about that, but oh well.

reply

You got it💪

Maybe have a heart to heart with Bailey...he's a pain in the neck!

reply

Bailey (she) has moved on. It all happened rather quickly; my son and Bailey moved out last weekend. I'm reacquainting myself with peace and quiet. Ahhh. I was fine with them being here for a while, but I'm happy to have my house to myself again. No worries!

reply

Good for you

No, I am the mother of my son. Bailey is my son's dog, a 2-year-old chocolate lab. She's a sweetie and a real bundle of energy. But she still needs to learn a few boundaries, such as food on the kitchen counter or the dining room table is not hers. Oh, and she doesn't seem to realize that Irish Spring soap is not food. In the four months they lived here she ate three bars.

reply

it was cool. and I mean COOL as in 60s or so. but the sun was out! I liked it a lot.

reply

After today, 60 will feel cool here, too. I'd be happy if we stay above freezing at night now.

reply

Oh, yeah I don't know what the temp is right now. I closed the windows.

reply

Same here. Windows closed to retain that heat we had.

reply

Bleak, thanks for asking. It was about 80 here, but the sky was gray and stormy looking.

reply

Northern Hemisphere is the best!! NORTHERN HEMISPHERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE!!!

reply

A solid 7 out of 10. An improvement from the average 5 out of 10.

My day was alright. I worked from 9:30 am-6:00 pm and then came home and watched the movie, Murder By Contract. Then, I watched the first two episode of the Key and Peele show, which I had never seen before.

reply

it was fine. i finished reading girl, 20 by kingsley amis, and i enjoyed it all quite a bit. i'm reading ending up by the same author next, hopefully starting today. it's apparently meant to be extremely dark, but that's a selling point for me.

i did 3 hours of biking, watched a lot of trashy movies (most bad, a few great), & i got quite a good night's sleep.

all in all, it was a-ok.
