Movies You Must See, But Haven't?

I'm trying to finish my "watchlist", but sometimes I'm in the mood for a movie I saw years ago that I want to compare with my current movie-experienced state of mind.

Try this one if you missed it:

Conan the Barbarian (82) is a must-see for any great movie completist

There is romance, prophesy, gigantic mosters, comedy, swordplay, Valeria the Queen of thieves, fellowship, great capers, Max von Sydow, spectacular sets and scenery, tons of gore and a tasteful amount of topless female nudity
The climax upon the evil snake cult temple alone is worth the time
The score is brilliant and the cast is fabulous
This film has had a couple of equals but I assure you no movie was ever better

10/10

Of course if you hate fantasy... it's going to be a huge bomb.

reply

Well that's true

Lawrence of Arabia

reply

Didn't that one bore the hell out of both of us😬

reply

I haven't finished it but feel I should as many consider it a classic. A few years ago I finally saw Dr Zhivago for the same reason.

reply

I bailed out too
I'll give a shot again..just have to find it streaming
Zhivago was somehow more of a fun watch but also very long

reply

It's a beautiful film to behold. Especially for the cinematography.

reply

I found that one hard to sit through. And I'm a pretty patient movie watcher, I think. I enjoyed longer movies like Barry Lyndon, for example.

Couldn't get into Lawrence though.

reply

It's my favorite film ever but I'm a fossil.

reply

I will finish it someday

reply

It shouldn't be a chore...just skip this one as it does not speak to you.

reply

I like a challenge

reply

i don't have any must sees anymore.

reply

I'm running out and will be taking more chances.

How Green Was My Valley - this beat out Citizen Kane for the Oscar.

reply

The hindenburg crash footage.

reply

Oh the huge manatee. I think it isn't too soon.

reply

Hope not.

reply

I've been saying I need to see Gone With the Wind for years.

I've also never seen The Lion King.

reply

I've never seen Frozen or TLK. I think Frozen may be the most product driven film ever. I cannot go to a public building that sells to kids w/o seeing Frozen stuff. It's astounding.

reply

I havent seen Frozen either. But that's lower in the backlog b/c it's not as old as the others.

reply

I saw GWTW recently. Really enjoyed it. Sort of like Peter Lorre in M, I like how Scarlett is unlikable but the center of the action. She's really a selfish brat in this.

reply

Pet sematery,the new one.

reply

Yes, this!

Also, I still need to see It

reply

I might go see it over the easter break.

reply

Oh, I meant 'It,' the King
reboot with the killer clown in the stormdrain
I'ts still 14 bucks streaming here...screw that!

reply

How much is that in UK pounds?

reply

A bit north of 18 bucks, according to my phone

I feel like I could just buy the thing cheaper👎

reply

You should wait until it comes out on dvd then.

reply

You are always very sensible
I may just do that

reply

No problem.

Hellboy 2019
Sunrise A song of two humans
Beauty and the beast 2017

reply

I prefer the Jean Cocteau version from 1946. La belle et la bete.

reply

Yeah, i wanted to watch that one to.

reply

That reminds me - I've been wanting to see it after someone with similar tastes recommended this. Thanks!
