Shawshank Redemption

Do you think Hadley would have seen sentenced to Shawhshank? In my opinion I don't think they'd put a former guard in the same prison he once worked at.

However, for movie purposes I wish they had an end scene of him in the chow line or something with a horrid look slapped across his face.

reply

No way they would have assigned him to the same prison. That would be extreme malfeasance. I think that horrid look would have been on his face at whichever prison he landed and I agree it would have been a great scene.

Also, in reality, i do not think he would have gone to prison at all. I mean where is the evidence of his murders? Norton had all the evidence stacked against him for the money laundering, but as for Hadley's murders? Unless Hadley outright confessed i think there'd be very minimal evidence to convict him.

reply

Exactly, it's not like Andy would have been around to testify against Hadley and if he was his word as an escaped felon would carry little weight. In reality Hadley at worst would have been suspended pending investigation. Hadley being cuffed and stuffed into a police car makes for a more exciting climax and that is what the producer wanted there.

reply

I doubt it
Also, do former cops and COs get protective custody?
Seems they would need it in prison
