Trinidad and Tobago.
What's up? haven't seen you in a while, how've you been?

Dang! I knew that!

He who laughs last didn't get the joke.

reply

why should the race always go to the fastest?

reply

I guess it's "first come, first served."

reply

you must cheat!

reply

Nah. I don't like cheating or cheaters. I salute you for being first with the correct answer.

reply

i was only riffing on the post and conversation you were having with twinA,
concerning The Simpsons and Mr. Burns. I'm not actually advocating cheating.

reply

Got it. No offense taken, LG.

This country is nicknamed "The Warm Heart of Africa."

reply

hmm. Africa's tough, so many countries. Dem. Rep. of the Congo?

reply

I agree; Africa's tough. I'm not familiar with very many countries there. Sorry, DRC is incorrect, although it's "in the neighborhood."

Lots of guesses, but none are right. I'll take pity and tell folks that it's Malawi. It's something I didn't know until recently. I became aware of Malawi when I watched "Long Way Down," the documentary with Ewan McGregor and Charlie Bowman about their motorbike trip from the northern tip of Scotland to Capetown, South Africa back in 2007. I really enjoyed both of their trips (the first one was "Long Way Round" in 2004 when they traveled from London through Europe, Asia and North America to New York City).

reply

Malawi has a lot of natural parks and wildlife reserves.
I enjoyed the challenge, Glen.
Did you know that Africa is the most ethnically diverse continent in the world, people-wise?

~~/o/

reply

That (most ethnically diverse) is something I did not know.

I'll never understand why people are so afraid of those who are different from them. Differences make life interesting.

I appreciate people who take care of what they have and I've read that Cubans do it out of necessity but it's a good lesson. Too many first-world countries have disposable societies.

It does make sense if you look at the first and second maps on this site.

Yes, I looked it up. Here, supposedly, is how to pronounce it.

reply

That's the first time I've ever heard it pronounced thanks.

Since you have hippomonstrosesquippedaliophobia I just have to say that that is really floccinaucinihilipilification. ( I know it doesn't totally make sense but it's so difficult to use in a sentence)

Is this country in the southern hemisphere?
