But what purpose does that feature serve? It doesn't add anything to the discussion.

Also, you can just reply "agree" or "this" or "amen" or something to voice your agreement. Just the same thing, but different way.

Reading doesn't add to the conversation either, but we do a lot of that on this board too. I don't see anything wrong with a show of support for someone else's view without littering the board with monosyllabic "Yeah"'s.
