Stonekeeper's Springtime Game: I recommend THIS Mystery Movie #329 - Like Honey and Wine [StoneKeeper busts BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS]

I expect someone to succeed in this round, but I am still gunning for that 100. Come on, people, have at it!

So you guys like to play games? Here is an investigation game that can be time consuming but it's lots of fun. Basically, I have a movie in mind and you have to guess which one it is. For each movie you guys are going to guess, I will give a hint that CONNECTS your guess with the movie I have in mind.

Example of connections: Actor, length, genre, aspect ratio, language, country, year, director, writer in common, rating, number of votes, nominations. It can even be something like: both movies involve a love triangle.

- The winner can either start a new game or say "pass". In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another one.
- After 12 hints, the point goes to the OP and he/she gets to start another one.
- Movie must have at least 3500 votes. Otherwise, add a Bonus Hint.

Let's get it on!

Hint 1: The Fallen Idol (1948) - European director.
Hint 2: Enemies Closer (2013) - MPAA rated R.
Hint 3: Caché (2005) - At least one Oscar winner in the cast.
Hint 4: I Served the King of England (2006) - Drama genre.
Hint 5: The Favourite (2018) - Oscar-nominated director.
Hint 6: The Killing Fields (1984) - Runtime over 2 hours.
Hint 7: Midnight Cowboy (1969) - Between 49000 and 354999 IMDB user votes.
Hint 8: The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) - Male and female stars have appeared in more than one film together.
Hint 9: Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) - One cast member has appeared in multiple John Woo movies.

What do I say about this movie other than you can watch it for free on IMDB's video service? Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009) has one of the craziest lead performances I have ever witnessed, and with Nic Cage that's saying something. The whole movie is brilliant to an indescribable degree.

Have you actually seen this, or are you just picking from my post on last week's watching thread?

reply

Yes to the second part of your question, ha-ha! (^_^)
I'll add it to my very long watch list.

When you get around to it, you'll find a fun straight-to-video action movie.

As an avid Van Damme fan, I implore you to avoid "Derailed" (2002) if you already haven't done so. It is so laughingly bad, even by JCVD standards, unless you enjoy figurative train wrecks (seriously, it features a high-speed train)! Can't stress this enough.

I've seen it. Still enjoy it more than The Quest, even though I agree with your assessment.

"Derailed" (2002) is perfect for having friends over to point out all its wonderful flaws in "Mystery Science Theater 3,000" fashion!
