Rushed movie endings...

When it comes to movies, one thing I can't stand more than anything is a rushed ending. Especially if it's a really good movie, and you can tell the director just rushed to the end, resulting in a very unsatisfying conclusion.

Basically all M. Night Shyamalan's movies except The Sixth Sense.

reply

As much as I like the movie, I agree that Unbreakable had a rushed ending.

reply

This. The twists rarely make sense if you give them much thought.

I am still curious to know what happens after the events of "The Princess Bride" (1987) as depicted by the story's ending, leaving much to the imagination outside the main characters. But, what can I say, it was a "Storybook Love" after all!

The Way Back (2010) wrapped up very quickly I thought.

The secret of Nimh, most things are never even solved at all so i'm hesitating to even call it a conclusion, feels like the climax is missing.

Fight Club

Oh, I know. One of the most rushed endings ever.

Life (the science-fiction horror). Had a good cast and a great atmosphere, but the ending was rushed for the sake of a "Gotcha!" moment.

Also, Avengers: Infinity War. I'm not really against cliffhangers, but the movie felt incomplete. Would have been better if it ended with a funeral service or something. Needed closure.

Just my. 02.

The original "The Hills Have Eyes" had an extremely abrupt ending.

Spielberg’s war of the worlds and No country for Old Men.

I agree with War of the Worlds. That ending was super rushed. As in for No Country for Old Men, that film is one of my favorites. Even though I don't feel the ending was rushed, it was still a bit unsatisfying.
