Do you believe in aliens?

I believe, due to the show Unsolved Mysteries. People genuinely have had encounters, and Roswell as well.

I think there's probably life on other planets. I don't believe in the typical theories like Roswell, the greys, etc.

reply

Yes I believe in everything. I especially believe that humans don’t know shit, even though we’d like to think we know everything.

😄 True, Froggy, true.

I think there's definitely other intelligent life forms out there. Still don't know what to make about the many reported encounters with aliens here. There are a lot of compelling reports, by credible people, but at the same time I'd think there'd be more tangible evidence. Dunno. My jury's out on that one.

Ya know Catbookss, I just look at it like anything’s possible. It’s a pretty fun way of looking at things, and it’s absolutely true. Not just with aliens, but everything else too. God, fairies, other dimensions... I’m not saying I believe in these things, but there is no way to prove they don’t exist so why not keep your mind open to all of it?
I never understand why people argue with eachother about things like this. Religion for instance. Why do atheists and Christians get into debates about who’s right? Neither of them know the actual truth, so why does it matter that they believe different things?
Same with the whole global warming argument. Why in the *beep* was this a debate? Everyone was an expert all of a sudden, as if their opinion would in any way change the actual outcome.
I just think as humans we’d be a lot better off if we humbled ourselves, and embraced the fact that there is so much we don’t know about, instead of priding ourselves in being “the most intelligent and superior species.” I’ll never understand this. As if planet earth depends on our existence rather than the other way around.

I'm 100% with you. And once I started learning about quantum physics, that *really* made me realise how little it is we do know, and how much *is* possible 😊

I used to but no longer do.

I think complex life is probably very rare in the universe due to the need for ideal conditions and the events that make everything fall into place.

In addition, I don't believe that there's any power source that can make ships travel the distances needed.

Also, I think there's something bizarre about humans where we hate each other and don't accept life as it is. That makes us want to leave here and is like some kind of mental illness. I believe that a sane and smart species wouldn't want to leave their planet, wouldn't care what's out in space, and would basically stay home and make their planet a nice place to live.

Humans do not want to make the Earth nice, do not want to take care of other humans, but want to meet aliens. That's crazy and if there are aliens who aren't crazy like this, they would never bother making contact, building ships, or any of it.

i don't believe any of the roswell/area 51/anal probe stories. i just don't think the evidence for any of those things holds up to scrutiny.

it certainly seems likely to me that the universe may be teaming with life, but there's no reason to think it's intelligent life like us. we're the only species on this planet that does calculus & drives cars & makes super-colliders, so there's no actual requirement to attain that kind of intelligence to survive & thrive.

and even if there are intelligent aliens, there's no guarantee that they'll live at the same time as us, or that there is a way for them to find us & meet. we may just bump up against the limits of physics.

Schrodinger's alien.

if somehow they managed to prove that aliens do not exist i will be very disappointed, but this is very unlikely because our knowledge about the universe is still quite limited, i don't think anyone alive right now will get a chance to meet aliens but yeah i do believe we are not alone
