What can a scientist in my Star Wars fan fic be working on?

I'm trying to write a fan fic about a scientist who is working on something in the era of the New Republic. He does not believe in the Force in the way he doesn’t think it controls fate. (He acknowledges, however, that there is an energy field that some sentients can manipulate) I just need something for him to be researching. It just has to sound cool and scientific. It can NOT be game-changing or something that can alter the story in a dramatic way Also it can’t have already been done in Legends or Canon. I want a fresh idea.

It cannot be

-A time machine

-A teleporter

-A matter replicator

-A singularity Weapon

-Any type of droid

-Anything to do with holograms

-A food synthesizer

-Anything to do with the Force or Midi-chlorians

-A shrink ray

-A freeze ray

-pico and femtotechnology

-A Dyson sphere or any type of megastructure.

-Liquid metal armor or a nano morph

-Any improvements on the hyperdrive

-Limb regeneration

-Hyperspace nullifier

-Holodeck

Knowledge Transfer (Instant learning like in the Matrix)
-Philosophers Stone

-Kinetic weapons

-Solar sail

-Anything to do with kyber crystals

-Gene editing

-Mech suit

-Exosuit

-Gender change

In canon, during the Empire, scientists were researching methods to control droids, lasers that can punch through deflector shields and ship scale disintegrators. These ideas are therefore taken.
My scientist is called upon by the New Republic to investigate why the supermassive black hole is more active than usual and sucking in things from a further range. I just need something for the scientist to be studying before he is called away. It has to sound fresh and cool.
I’m looking not for a gadget or piece of tech. I’ve decided everything technological that we can think of, can be done. Speeders with deflector shields? Sure. We haven’t seen them but they can easily be done. I’m looking for something that would still be an emerging field of science. Something a Type II/III civilization would do next. IM LOOKING FOR HIGHLY ADVANCED SCIENCE IDEAS. Any ideas?

Have him working on a sperm extraction device - a suckutron, if you will. His knowledge in advanced suction theory is needed to solve the conundrum of this black hole. In the process of studying the black hole, he discovers a breakthrough that will revolutionize suction-based sperm extraction and usher the New Republic into a utopian age. The emerging Empire, however, has nefarious plans to oppress the masses through sperm-suction enslavement, so our scientist hero must race against the clock to prevent his sperm-suction breakthrough from falling into the wrong hands. Along the way he learns the true value of friendship, wins the heart of his soulmate, and manages to solve the black hole scenario just in time to make it to the battle of the bands, where his group wins first prize.

Plot twist: The entire story takes place in the dreams of a sperm extraction device that has achieved consciousness. This will prompt the reader to contemplate their own humanity. What truly makes us human if the suckutron has dreams too?

Sounds like a David Cronenberg film 😊😊😊😊

reply

Yeah, Cronenberg is pretty weird but His early stuff was great

reply

Maybe he discovers that black holes above a certain size, like 100 billion solar masses, warp spacetime so severely that they create transient mini-black holes/wormholes that appear and disappear randomly at distances well beyond the event horizon.

reply

Can you explain this scenario by folding a piece of paper in half and punching a hole through it?

reply

Partly, yes. That is the common visualization used to explain the properties of a wormhole.

reply

Sense increasing. Manipulation of the brain/body so a person can detect other levels of reality beyond sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Not sure if it would be a game changer or not. Guess it depends.

The super scientist says 'screw it all' and takes a day off...he is all about wars at this point but needs a break
He takes a nice long walk and happens upon an ice cream truck and decides to get a tasty frozen treat

Just as he orders he is interrupted by the woman of his dreams...she is tall, perhaps a bit plump and buxom, long haired and wearing a flimsy flower dress, high heeled sandals and a super cute bow is atop her head...I'ts love at first sight

This is how your story should start...best wishes

reply

Yeah, I like yours better.

reply

We should write this Star Wars story, it would be a billion bucks for us to split bro

Star Wars X: The Sexy Big Girl Awakens and Strikes Back

Hell, I'd watch this one a bunch of times

reply

I’m thinking Kate Upton for the leading lady.

reply

Perfect!
Tall big girls for the win

reply

The scientist should say out loud, to no one in particular: "I am so sick and tired of these dang star wars!"

reply

Star Wars X: Let's Just Talk it Out

100 minutes of reasonable discussion and nary a lightsaber nor blaster to be seen...it'll make $500 million the first weekend

reply

You could edit a 100 minute movie about that easily from the existing footage of the prequel trilogy.

reply

True:/

reply

👍

reply

Ecoshit or climate change nonsense. Something Lucas would put in a movie.

reply

He should be working on a plot.

reply

He could also study the physics of hyperspace and how black holes or wormholes could relate to it.

reply

He's working on producing the ultimate alcoholic drink that doesn't give you a hangover.

reply

Ok my scientist is studying sub-Hyperspace, the dimension in which quintessence can be turned into Phantom Energy and then travel to destroy star systems in real time. This is how Starkiller Base fires it’s weapon after draining a sun. (I’m sure Disney will explore it more in due time). However, in the mean time; I wonder what other things my scientist can study about it. Applications I’ve considered would be a sub-hyperdrive which would allow for instantaneous travel like Star Trek: Discovery’s Spore Drive. It also could be used for instant communications. Good stuff but too much of a gamechanger to tinker with. What else could my scientist be studying about sub-hyperspace?
