Industry in the Film Industry

Name a movie where an important scene takes place in an industrial setting (farm, factory, mineral quarry...)

Code of Silence (85) Chuck Norris decimates the Comacho gang in an epic shootout in an old warehouse

Can you think of one?

reply

Dirty Harry (71) Callahan chases down and duels the Scorpio Killer with pistols in a rock quarry

Industrial locales are really cool film sets because all of the rusting, hulking machinary is menacing and the surrounding landscapes are so foreboding
Dirty Harry nailed the industrial setting

reply

Trespass (1992) also really illustrates the ambience you describe

reply

Proper cast!
Good to know...i feel like at this point I owe you a few solid recommendation bud, I'll think on a few good recent ones

reply

Don't stress yourself over it. I'm just responding with movies that are naturally occurring in my memory.

reply

Cool beans, no worries but I do owe you a couple good ones Amigo

reply

There Will be Blood (07) Plainview sure figured out the oil industry very quickly though he pretty much fumbled everything else

reply

Hellfighters (1968)
Deepwater Horizon (2016)

reply

Deepwater operations hadn't occurred to me, good new Industrial category to ponder
'🎶Under the sea, under the sea...weren't we just posting about Mermaids 10 minutes ago in another thread?

reply

Stephen King's Graveyard Shift (1990) the brief synopsis is self explanatory
Contraband (2012) a construction site figures prominently

The whole finale of My Bloody Valentine takes place in a mineshaft.

Doesn't Trespass take place in an abandoned warehouse?

reply

Ooh! Forgot that one

Trespass (92) takes place in a factory

reply

Okay, I remember it being something industrial.

reply

8 Mile (2002)
The Machinist (2004)
Alien 3 (1992)

reply

Good ones
The Machinist was pretty great work by Bale

reply

Gung Ho - many scenes in an automobile factory

The Terminator - ends in a metal stamping plant

And now I think I'll close this post with a perfect music video for this thread ...

Kind of an oxymoron there.
