Actors who chose not to be stars?

Like they had the chance to be a star but they just didn't want it.

William Peterson is one, after to live and die in LA and manhunter he could have been a leading man in movies but chose not to.

George C Scott

5 marriages and 6 children...
Clearly the guy busy with other things😆

reply

Scott didn't attend the Oscars when he won for Patton. In fact he didn't even watch the show. Someone asked him what he was doing and he said he was watching the Los Angeles Kings hockey game. True story.

reply

Pretty badass, good for him

reply

Rick Moranis was a bit of a star but he stepped away over 20 years ago to be with his family and children

I'm just guessing but I think he made just enough money to be comfortable, found the showbiz scene not to his liking and just left
He certainly could have done more work if he had chosen to

reply

no, his wife died

reply

Jeez!
That's awful...learn something new everday around here eh?

reply

He still acted for a few years, but then decided his family life was far more important. Good for him.👍

reply

Just looked her up
Cancer in her mid-30s
Terrible!

And yes, good for him

Nah he is blacklisted.

reply

For what reason?

reply

He is not

reply

Because he didn't want to do the roles hollywood wanted him to do. Why do you think he hasn't done anything decent in 10 years.

reply

Uhm well, because he doesn't take the roles Hollywood wants him to do, obviously!

reply

Jason Scott Lee.

reply

Daniel Day Lewis.

reply

Cynthia Rhodes, coulda been a star after Dirty Dancing but retired instead.

reply

Keanu Reeves. He donates most of his earnings to charity and often takes the subway.

reply

He's a star, leading man for 25 years.

reply

I get that, but my point is that he acts more like a normal, down to earth guy rather than your typical Hollywood star who lives extravagantly and is chauffeured around everywhere. I can respect that.

reply

Michael Pitt
Christopher Abbott
Dave Chappelle

reply

Pitt is good... I bet he stays busy with his band too. After Ghost in the Shell, too, he may lay off big movies for a bit.

reply

A pretty blonde haired, blue eyed sweetheart like that? He could’ve sold out easy. He chose not to. I respect that. Sexy af in Boardwalk Empire.

reply

It probably helps that hes European, less pressure to be a Hollywood star. French, right? Did you ever see The Dreamers? I think that was his first breakout role. Quite good, I recommend it.

reply

Of course. Love that movie.
