ORSON WELLES: What do you think of him?

As a director, as an actor, and/or as a man?

reply

From a director point of view he was either really bad or really good. He was great as an actor in Citizen Kane, The Stranger, The Third Man and Touch of Evil.

reply

I liked Touch of Evil a lot

Was bored to death by Citizen Kane (cool camera work though)

He was a pudgy, sloppy looking guy that was not interesting to watch on film

He had a great voice

His War of the Worlds broadcast is legendary though the panic may have been exaggerated in the retellings

I'm unaware of his private life and don't care to read up on it so I cannot respond honestly to your last query

awesome

I don't know much by Welles, nor have I seen almost anything with him in it.

I do really appreciate his 1953 short ghost story Return to Glennascaul, which he narrates: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59yMEgjY-1w
