Your paranormal experiences

You ever had something "weird" happening to you? I was tripped by some unseen entity once when i was out for a walk. This was on a flat, concrete road so there wasn't anything sticking out of the ground. I checked the spot rigorously due to being so surprised. It was like i had bumped my foot on thin air. So my only conclusion is it was either a ghost or a living person that was invisible. It definitely wasn't something normal.

Maybe a hobo snuck in and borrowed the place?

reply

[deleted]

Well, that doesn't mean it's impossible XD

reply

The lights in the bathroom were on? My guess is someone was sneaking around and cleaning up but doesn’t want to own up to it.

reply

The only explanation could be that perhaps a ghost used the bathroom and forgot to turn off the water, though I'm not sure why he or she would coat the sides of the sink and toilet with dirt.

I have had phases that last from a few weeks to a month where I keep experiencing weird coincidences. Then it all goes away. For instance..
-In my car, singing a song out of the blue then switching on the radio and that very song is playing, and at the very same place in the song where I left off
- using a rarely used word like “meritricious” then someone on tv says that word two seconds later
- remembering some obscure old news story from 20 years that relates to nothing current in particular then suddenly it pops up all over media the next day.
- talking about an old friend I haven’t heard from in years, then getting an email from them out of the blue.
- having a dream about a puppy and my brother, then finding out the next day my brother just got a puppy and never mentioned wanting to get a puppy before.

I saw what I regard as a UFO once, because I (nor anyone I was with which included some folks in the aerospace industry) could identify it either. At first we thought it was a satellite or the ISS but it was not flying straight. It was moving along a trajectory but was also doing a lot of stop and goes and small loopy turns. If anyone has any idea what that could have been, please explain.

reply

I can't remember it but there is a name for the second phenomenon. I had a few of those as well. You here about something for the first time and suddenly it seems like to be everywhere.

reply

It's the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon.

reply

That's the one, thanks.

reply

NP. I know that one as I seem to experience it often.

Ive had several experiences. Ive seen the ghost of a well known WI cold case, Mary Schlais. Look up the case and the haunted part of it. Theres alot of info online. But In the early 1970s she was hitch hiking from Minneapolis to I think Milwaukee. What happened no one knows. Her body was found in a snow bank in western WI. She has haunted the area ever since. I saw her fishing one night in the summer of 2003 when I was a kid. I was below the dam. She was about 10 ft away from me looking at me, then she floated up the path to the parking area. I just stood there not moving completely scared crapless. I had heard the stories from older people living around the lake for years and now I was experiencing it. Pretty surreal.

reply

Do you remember if she seemed aware of your presence, Bigcat, or was it like watching a film footage?

reply

Yes I do. It was definitely a female entity and she was definitely facing me looking at me before she turned and floated up the path to the parking area.

reply

That must have been very frightening. Has the experience limited you in any way as a person? Fear of dark places, fear of being alone, etc?

reply

No, not really. It just made me more of a believer.

reply

Have you tried to see her again after that?

reply

I have not. In fact that was the last time I went down there fishing. I have driven on the road that passes near there though quite a few times in the years since. Her story around western WI is well known. You can search Elk Lake Dam or Mary Schlais haunted dam or something like that and see a general view of the area.

reply

I looked it up, interesting place. Hope she can find peace one day.

reply

None - I have had a few run-ins with raccoons over the years.

reply

Is it something you wish for to experience?

reply

I have never really thought about it.

[deleted]

Sorry about your brother
And yes, perhaps he was sending you a message

reply

[deleted]

Maybe he wanted you to give the gloves to your niece.

reply

[deleted]

Aww, i would've loved to see her smile :-)

reply

Absolutely nothing paranormal has happened to me and I don't believe it ever will

reply

I feel the same but weird stuff happens!

reply

Yes it does. Years ago I was playing backgammon with my partner with two dice. I threw a five and a three consecutively 18 times. We got scared after the tenth time.

reply

I never heard that 3 and 5 would mean anything special, but that is a pretty awesome thing to happen.

reply

Might come when you least expect.

I saw a ghost once when I was much younger in my parents house in San Jose, CA before they moved to Grass Valley. I was around 14 years old and I was home alone. My parents' two puppies were on the bed with me when I watched tv in my parent's bedroom. Suddenly the two puppies (who were sleeping at the time) perked up and looked very alert. One of them starting growling while the other one started whimpering. I looked in the mirror that faced the hallway and I saw a ghostly shadow standing in the hallway that had a man's face on it. I completely froze and felt too scared to move. The figure floated across the hallway and my two dogs started barking. I never felt more scared in my entire life; my heart raced so fast.

reply

Sounds like a good reason to develope spectrophobia.

reply

Everyone keeps talking about seeing ghosts. While I don't disbelieve the possibility of them existing, I have never actually seen one.

reply

Most have not.

reply

Is this a , "only stories that you have experienced thread?" Or can we share ones that have happened to close relatives and friends?

reply

Sharing others is ok :-)

Ok. My cousin lived in Paris for several years. She told me about a few strange things that happened to her.
One day with some friends over at her apartment, they were talking about people that had died, during the conversation, a glass of beer that was half full randomly floated across the table. All windows were shut, there was no seemingly environmental reason for the glass moving on its own.

Another time, she was visiting the Paris catacombs with friends, an old man approached them and started talking to them about the remains that were in the vicinity. After a short chat, he said, "I just need to go somewhere for a moment" and he walked around a corner. When they looked for him a few moments later, the corner led to a dead end, there was nowhere for him to go, he just disappeared.

The last weird thing she told me about, was a few weeks before the Bataclan Theatre massacre, she was at the theatre for a concert. As she was walking down the stairs, thoughts entered her head, like "where would you go if someone started shooting in here?" "Where would you escape to?" These are things she never thinks about, she is not the paranoid type, so it felt odd that they happened to her, and she only realised the significance of it after the massacre happened a few weeks later.

reply

What did the man say about the remains?

reply

Nothing specific, just general info, that they didn´t pay much attention to, they thought he was just making small talk.
