The movie industry - with the exception of documentaries - needs to ditch the political stuff. They, and the awards shows, are shooting themselves in the foot by allowing this invasion.

I really enjoy the various awards shows but you are completely correct...average people don't want to hear all of the preachy political crap

Just wear a sexy dress or tux, look glamorous, thank your director and spouse, pick up your stupid statue and go sit the hell down dummy, the bubbly is waiting

Was it DiCaprio who lectured us all on climate change and the plight of the Native Americans in a single awards season a few years back???

And why does the Academy Awards show have to be 4 hours long? I haven't watched it in ages, but what the heck are they doing that it takes that long?

👍 Yep, except it might be an umpteen-way tie. An awards show is neither the time nor the place to spout off about your politics and causes.

Imagine being an actor, you got a great script and really nailed the part
The public ate it up, everyone wants your number, a ton of money was earned, you get nominated for a world class award, limos and red carpets...

And then you win, walk up to collect your tiny statue and proceed to bore the living shit out of millions of people with some ridiculous political/environmental/economic nonsense!

Hey, you played a Pirate/Cancer Patient/Divorcee/slow guy or whatever very well but how's about keeping it light during the speech!!
My kids play pretend nearly as well as you do

That's like saying SNL should stop. IMO, I think it's one of the main purposes of creative art to critique culture.

Woe to us all if it ceased to be. We'd only have corporate advertising left to influence us and drain our pockets.

"Worst Screen Combo - Donald Trump and his self-perpetuating pettiness"----this is neither clever nor amusing. The Razzies did something similar for George W. When "Fahrenheit 9/11" came out. Trump is too easy a figure to lampoon and is the subject of endless (and often very unfunny) mockery from most late-night comedians. Some of this year's Worsts were deserving, but all the awards to Fahrenheit 11/9 had nothing to do with the film itself but revulsion towards Trump. Do the creators of the Razzies think they are enlightening us with their political opinions?

Micahel Moore should stop making movies. He is still wandering around blaming everything from the Flint water problems to the Democrats election loss to greedy capitalists. Just move to St Petersburgh already.
