Anybody here ever been searched for (on the net)?

I keep getting a "signature" for search possibilities when googling my name. The signature includes an address and occupation from many years ago. My understanding for the signature to keep coming up it has to be specifically inputed as such. Example. John Q Smith, Student, 123 Fake St, New York, NY 10000. If one keeps inputing John Q Smith alone then the rest falls off after several weeks. I don't mind somebody looking for me from my student days but after a few years I wish they would get some help to find me or if they already know then just make contact. I've eliminated many possibilities and am down to less than a half dozen without considering a wild card possibility. Most are women and I feel awkward due to being married in terms of cold calling. My only objective is just to bring it to a conclusion. If a woman just let her know that I am married and if she can keep it to platonic then we could correspond periodically.

I am certain that nobody wants to find me😀

If you really must find this party and advise them to stop, speak with a PI...it will cost good money though

I think it is kind of like this place in that a service provider has to cooperate to provide an identity which they will not do. At least not without proving some kind of threat could happen. The couple IT people I have talked think that I am stuck in terms of playing detective. My sense is that it is not malevolent but I don't want it to get to a point where my wife is calling me out on it due to the unknown and the frequency. I'd be flattered if somebody wanted to catch up on old times and talk about what they are doing today. Not many people in the scheme of things would know how to look me up in this particular way.

If you find your name and info on a random website, email them and tell them to take it down. Same thing happened to me and they promptly complied.

It's not coming up on a website. It's just coming up on search preferences on my lap top. My computer IT friend said that is because somebody is sending out a search based on certain parameters. In my case my name and a portion of my college background. When I did the same no information came up in terms of address. I am thinking that this person is seeing the same thing and is perhaps blocking what they need to see to contact me. In the scheme of things there is virtually nothing "laying around" for some stranger to do a search this way. It would have to be someone who knows my name and that I attended a certain college. Like I have indicated before I have put out fairly painless inquiries with those I still have contact with. This has yielded nothing as people in a couple of circles are accounted for. If I really want to know from this point in I will most likely have to make direct contact. Nobody sees a way for a PI or someone else to investigate without making direct contact.
