Lemon Tree - Fools Garden

Fools Garden was a German group which had one hit back in 1995. A very catchy tune:

My favorite German worded song is the Beach Boys (phonetically?) singing in German the beautiful song "In My Room."
Something like "Ganze Alai."

reply

Why did they sing it in German ??

reply

Just like The Beatles had their first breakthrough in Hamburg, I think it was a signal to capture the German market (=$$).

reply

The Beach Boys weren't anywhere near Germany. I have to research this.

reply

Hmm, it doesn't sound that good, to be honest.

reply

"Ganz Allein" perhaps?

reply

Yes, maybe. I've never tried to translate it. But my Beach Boys Rarities album might have the answer. I'd have to go find it. Not that hard, but also a bit of work.

reply

It means "all alone". Not sure if that's also the subject of "My Room".

reply

That actually sounds about right. I'm not a big Beach Boys fan, but I know they are special to millions of people and have many layers regarding their recorded output.
On the rare occasion where I've heard "In My Room" in English, yes, it does state the singer loves to be alone in his room where he can tell all his troubles to. That's very touching !

reply

Aw, that's kind of sad, really. He can always come to my basement if he needs to talk!😘

Never heard of that song before, gonna have a listen!

reply

One hit wonders.

reply

The ultimate one hit wonder.

reply

Thanks, Mitch. Now this song is stuck in my head.😑

How would I know ?? 🙂🙂🙂🙂

reply

Because I've said this before! You really need to listen to me when I talk!😤

reply

I won't question your knowledge on German songs ever again. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

reply

Or French. Obviously.

reply

and Korean

reply

Or Japanese. Or Chinese. Or Dutch. Or even Belgian!

reply

The Belgians don't have any singers. Stop fooling around.

reply

They did win the Eurovision Song Contest many years ago, so they used to have at least one:

That is brutal 👎👎👎👎

reply

Wha?! It definitely gets "douze points" from me!

reply

Zero from the Canadian judge. 👎👎👎👎

reply

What? Belgian isn't even a language. Flemish or Walloon.

reply

Believe it or not, but there actually are "Belgian songs". They're from a country called Belgium.

By the way, the official languages of Belgium are Dutch, French and German.

reply

My bad. Are you ever going to forgive me?

reply

You insulted the Belgians. Who cares!

reply

Eat a belgian waffle.

reply

a

reply

You can stuff that waffle
where the sun don't shine!

reply

Oh yeah? well... uh .... hey .... yeah... well... you suck!

reply

I do. I suck REAL hard.😘

reply

Woops my mistake according to wikipedia that is only a thing in North America.

reply

Belgian waffles???

reply

thats what wikipedia said. I apologize if I am mistaken. They just look like regular waffles.

reply

Belgian waffles are definitely a thing in Belgium. They don't call them "Belgian" waffles, though.

reply

Do they just call them waffles?

reply

It depends on the waffle. They have a variety from Brussels and one from Liège.

reply

Good find Amigo
Never heard of them

reply

I remember them. Not to be confused with savage garden

reply

It's actually a very very sad song, in a very catchy tune. Mind blowing!
