Personally, I'm fond of the idea that the Earth and the Universe have no beginning...

If they had no beginning, they would not need a creator. Of course I can't prove this nor do I have any evidence, but I just like the idea.

Of course it has no beginning. To have a beginning we need time. If the universe does not exist, time, too, wouldn't exist. So by definition, the universe must have no beginning.

Well, the idea of something "needing a creator" (other than things humans create) is silly on its face, because that "logic" demands that the creator needs a creator as well.

A creator would be infinitely more complex and infinitely more in need of creation than the universe.

Creationists don't actually believe that life and intelligence and existence require creation, because they believe the creator is all three of those things.

I like the idea too. I don't care how it began or if it was always there. We'll never know and that doesn't bother me one bit. There are plenty of other things to wonder about.
