Best voice performance in a movie?

Kiefer Sutherland in "Phone Booth."

Douglas Rain in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) even though the movie is a bore.

My standby is always Teri Hatcher in Coraline.

Kevin Spacey in American Beauty.
Edward Norton in Fight Club.

Jason Wingreen as Boba Fett! Okay, not really, but his new voice is so lame!

James Earl Jones as Darth Vader is just epic. Maybe overacted at times, but there's a reason it has had such an impact.

reply

Yeah, James E. Jones as the voice of Darth Vader wins. Darth Vader is such a marvelous character that it takes seven or eight actors to play him!

And if I may nominate a best supporting vocal actor, I adored Morgan Freeman's wizard character in "The Lego Movie". His voice was every so slightly cracked and slurred, giving the character seem loopy and odd.

Fred MacMurray in Double Indemnity

SCARLETT JOHANSSON in Her (2013)

reply

Good choice. I'll say Anthony Hopkins playing Death in Meet Joe Black.

Michael Wincott in "The Crow".

reply

So you’re saying that Wincott projected his own voice into his own body? What talent!

reply

You said it!
