Joan Osborne - One Of Us
One hit wonder from the 1990s. What happened to Joan. Where did it all go wrong?

Haven't heard of her before, but her song makes me think of this one:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think Joan was being ironic.
shareThis type of music was in fashion for about two years.
shareI actually liked her follow up single Saint Teresa.
One of Us is such a melancholy song, and i noticed in 1996 there was a lot of that. The question 'would you want to see if seeing meant that you had to believe in Jesus and the Saints and all the prophets', I've realised that most would say 'I don't want to see' as they don't want to change their lives or what they like doing.
The Christian kids in my school seemed to like it a lot.
shareI think they missed the point.
shareI think the last line about the Pope makes pretty clear it isn't really a religious song. Not sure why a song mentioning saints appealed to them, seeing they were Protestant.🤷♀️
I think the song is quite catchy, but it makes me think of these dumb kids every time.
I attended this show. It was a Phil Lesh & Friends concert (maybe posted by a fan who would like to think otherwise). This was her most memorable part
