one flew the cuckoos nest

what do you think is the message of the movie?

Only chiefs can lift water fountains.

Typical 1960s anti-authoritarian nonsense. Equating mental illness with nonconformism...It's just stupid! Mental illness is unhealthy and potentially dangerous. I guess I'm just one of the few who dislikes the book and the movie. I'm such a rebel!

times have changed. they used to do lobotomies at one time.

I assume the writer had one.

Kesey did have issues.

What were they specifically? I don't know much about him, but from all the videos I've seen of him, I didn't notice.

Yes you are LDG, but I sort of agree with you. But I still LOVED this film.

Rebel towards the ridiculous, especially against the wind, and especially against those who have power over you... Be yourself.... Or to quote Bertrand Russell, "Conformity is death"

Freedom is a state of mind? A state that can be killed.

First of all, the title is "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".

I enjoyed this movie quite a lot, I'd even call it great but it did not seem to amount to much in terms of a message...

'A very guy cool who doesn't follow any rules gets destroyed by authority...'

Duh...
