I trust random people more than professional critics. What did YOU think of the film?
EDIT: nevermind, I just saw the 7.5 in the title.
2nd EDIT: But still, What did YOU think?
I enjoyed it. I love "end of the world" movies, and this one fit the bill. There was tension throughout the move, and the acting was good. The special effects were minimal, but good. There were even some funny lines. As I said 7.5/10. It's definitely worth watching.
π
I'll give it a solid 7/10 and admit it was so much better than I anticipated. My only complaint is with Machine Gun Kelly being in it.

I know nothing about him. Why did you not like him being in the film?
π
Not too long ago MGK and his goons jumped another a guy he had a beef with. Not a manly move in my opinion. He seems like an arrogant kid.
Hmm. I did not know that. Was the other guy seriously hurt?
π
Doesn't seem too bad, but now he wants to fight MSK +1 goon in the Octagon (UFC ring).

That's good.
π
I found it very "meh".

That's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
π
True.
I suppose I'd like Bird Box more if it came out bit later than RIGHT on the heels of A Quiet Place (and yes, I know Bird Box comes from a book, written way before A Quiet Place. Cinematically, it's still right after). I didn't like A Quiet PLace much either. *shrug*
I loved A Quiet Place, and give it an 8/10. Again, c & v.
π
i liked the film where everyone went blind. some others did not.
but that didnt seem as cheesy as the premise of this one. borderline plausible. i prefer plausible dystopias over silly ones.

Okay then.
π
MovieMan, surely you jest. We sat through that thing and when it was over....my husband was speechless and my comment.... βWhat the hell? What was after them?β A total waste! If you can explain to me in a PM the premise of a waste of film I would appreciate your input. All I saw were blindfolds being needed, wind rustling trees, people doing away with themselves and a constant talk about birds. And, please donβt reply with βThatβs why they make chocolate and vanilla.β
Iβm finding most Netflix & Amazon Prime produced movies are sorely lacking. I give them about 15 minutes then stop the inane throw together pieces of garbage. We stuck with this vacuous thing because Sandra Bullock starred.
Different strokes for different folks. I liked it a lot, and I jest not. (I'm a poet, and I know it.)
It also had a good soundtrack.
Speaking of Netflix movies, have you seen Bandersnatch?
Also did you know that they passed HBO for most Emmys last year? Not too shabby.
π
But you didnβt explain the movie. I requested a PM so the movie wouldnβt be ruined for other viewers. βYou must comply. Resistance is futile.β π¬
Edit:No, I havenβt watched Bander.....
What part of the movie do you need explained? And isn't that futile since you didn't like it? And how do I send a PM?
I haven't done in so long that I've forgotten how.
And you really should watch Bandersnatch.
π
I didnβt like it because it left me wondering? The whole movie needed to be explained as itβs very depressing. I couldnβt make sense of it other than there is thing? which wanted everyone to look at it so they would commit suicide. But, thanks for the PM. I still donβt like the movie! I will look for Bandersnatch.

Then you're one of the folks who likes things explained to them, and everything to be tied up in a neat bow at the end of the movie. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I'm the opposite. I love movies which make me think, and are open ended so that I can interpret them as I see fit. I'm okay with leaving things unexplained. Sometimes the explanation ruins the film. And when I'm confused I often go to YouTube to see possible explanations.
BTW, they were going to show the "monster" (or whatever), but decided not to. As Alfred Hitchcock said,
"What you can't see is scarier than what you can see."
π
PS Be forewarned, Bandersnatch might be even more confusing for you. The movie gives you choices to make along the way dictating what direction the plot will move. There are also
five
main endings depending on what choices you make. It's kind of a mind fuck.
I found it fascinating, but you might not. So you're been notified/warned.
