I think they are born with the sexual identity, so "Nature" is the reason , IMHO. I believe they DO realize as a very young child , their sexual identity.

imo this is largely the case, whereas some people might be more plastic in their sexual identities/affinities - esp. bisexuals.

its probably some sort of highly-biased distribution.

I think it has come to a point where society influences some people now. In Australia we had the "Safe Schools Program" which was created by Leftard's and pushed a Pro Homosexual agenda, it encouraged kids to explore things they really shouldn't have and caused a lot of uproar especially with some teachers who didn't like teaching it.

Anyway, as a result there was an increase in the amount of young children presenting to Doctors claiming to be "trans".

perhaps. otoh, it might have given young people the freedom to more genuinely express themselves.

most people, imo, go through some experimentation with their own sex during the run up to puberty, but end up more-or-less exclusively heterosexual.

if mere exposure led to identification, we should be seeing a much higher incidence of homosexuality, long since.

but then, im a 'leftard', so what do i know? :)

which would be more formative, actual experimentation or hearing about it on the internet? i suppose it comes down to what extent sexual identity is innate vs experiential/developmental. most evidence is toward the former.

i do agree that a whole lot of obnoxious messages get pumped out of the media, by the way. and they do doubtless have behavioral effects. however, i dont think they go quite as deep as basic sexuality, though they may influence experimentation on the edges.

at any rate, i find that most 'rightards' pay an absolutely enormous amount of lip-service to 'freedom'. there's one of the costs.

imo, too much of anything ain't good for ya.

Well luckily the Safe Schools bullshit is nearing it's end and the Leftard who was responsible for it has long been sacked. The link between Leftard's and pedophilia is well known.

Freedom? Freedom is an interesting concept, does a child have the freedom to go to school and be educated on how to write, do math, learn basic life skills and skills that will enable them to get a job? Or is the role of schools to indoctrinate them and waste their time by teaching them about sexuality, something which was formally left for the child to truly discover themselves when they reached a more mature age?

What Safe Schools teaches is inappropriate as well as in sexual.

Agreed. If the child has a stable home, taught to be a good person to others, taught to cherish the animals of the earth, taught to be a good steward of the earth's natural resources, THEN , I think the child will be able to explore and decide on their own, whatever is, their identity.

In other words, a SAFE environment. I don't think propaganda needs to be pushed upon children.

i suppose the earlier age, where homosexuality was viewed as a disease/disorder, would qualify as 'safe'.

now who was it, the 'leftards' or the 'righttards' who fought for allowing homosexuals their freedoms, their very legitimacy as human beings?

sending messages about sexuality is nothing new. let's not pretend everything was on the up and up until, say, 10-20 years ago. i'd call that a very selective interpretation.

With Safe Schools it actually does the opposite it teaches that Heterosexuality is wrong and pushes Homosexuality.

All the Leftard's do is try and dehumanize anyone that doesn't fit it's perverse view of the world.

Yes, our biological drive is to pass on our own genes. But that is achieved because the act of sexual reproduction feels good. That doesn't mean people don't have sex because it feels good. They absolutely do. It's the means to that end.

If what you said was true, there'd be no reason for anyone to ever use birth control. People have sex with birth control despite significantly reducing the chance it will lead to their genes being passed on because the act itself feels good.

It seems to be innate, but there are individuals whose life experience can cause them to experiment or even embrace a sexual identity that doesn't come naturally.

i agree that this could be the case, or stated another way, that there is a varying level of plasticity in the development of sexual preference among individuals. bisexuality alone leads to that expectation.

I have to believe some/most are born with their sexual Identity

my reasoning is....I do not believe in god or The Bible/Christianity..But its not by choice.....

I have a deep, Unnatural fear of Death, I fear death because I believe/Am certain when we die all there is is forever NOTHINGNESS...

Eternal Nothingness horrifies me beyond belief, I have serious panic attacks when I contemplate it....

The thought of the second I die, I enter Eternal nothingness, never even realizing I ever lived, had parents, had children or died again terrifies me....worse Theres virtually nothing I can to to stop it from becoming reality...We all are heading to this HORROR, theres not a living thing in the universe that can hide from it....

when you fear something as much as I fear Eternal Nothingness, You look for answers and solutions....

and God/Heaven is the answer to all my fears....If I could find god and Have faith...it would make my worst nightmare go away....

Basically what I'm trying to say is....I do not believe in God or Jesus or The Bible....But I want to....I want TO MORE THAN anything....If I had 1 wish in life it would be to have absolute Faith....

This leads to conclude You are probably born Gay,Straight or Bi....

Because for whatever reason, Believing in God is not a choice for me...I want to more than anything is the world....I have a crippling fear and The one and ONLY thing that could make that fear go away is believing in GOD, If anyone has a reason to want to believe in god its me.....Yet I dont and cant....

I've concluded I was born this way....for whatever reason, My brain and Thought patterns dont allow me to believe in God....when I think Of the world and Universe, There is simply no way I can make myself Believe what The Bible says and what supposedly The answers are in the bible....

for example, what if you got married, had 1 child and raised your family to believe in God....Lets say You and your wife dies in a car crash, go to heaven....But your son lives the next 15 years and Loses faith, Then dies when he's 40.....

Under that scenario your son would go to Hell....

Could you be Happy in Heaven knowing your son is in hell?

this is just 1 tiny question of a million things that for me doesnt make sense...and make God/Heaven impossible

for me, this Issue I'm having Is proof you are and can be born a certain way....

for me, Believing in god or finding faith isnt a choice...Its just not something I'm capable of....Its the thing I want most in Life, Its the answer to my deepest fear but My brain and the way I think makes it impossible

I seen plenty of shows where being gay has Destroyed a person life, Cost them relationships with thier parents...I've seen Plenty of people cry thier eyes saying they dont want to be gay, their life would be so much better and thier problems would instantly go away if they werent gay...

some may have trouble believing that...but I know it to be dead true...My Life would instantly change for the better if I could find faith, My worst nightmare would never bother me again if I found faith...But I just cant

I fully believe some/Most Gay people are born gay and its not a choice...

I totally understand what you say. Im not scared of death like you and Faith is NOT the thing I want most in life but I went 5 years at a church because of a girlfriend and still, after 5 years, I STILL could not have Faith for the same reason as you.

That being said, what I struggle to agree with is this: bottom line, what you say is You are either born Christian, Muslum or atheist (etc.)

I think it's our life experiences, the way we were raised and the culture in which we live in that prevent us to give ourselves to a spriritual being.

no Not Born Christian Or Muslim or Born of a religion....

Because you have to learn of that religious to believe in it...there for you couldnt be born to a certain religious...

But I do think you could be born with the brain patterns or brain chemistry that Makes it impossible or extremely difficult to believe/come to terms with Religious....You may completely see the world different and Have different thoughts than other people....

for example theoretically physicists have Thoughts most simply arent capable of, They can see solutions and answers that we dont even know the questions too...

there are people that have photogenic memories....They can literally go into a story and walk down the rows and look at 50 different items and not only remember all 50 items but the prices and how much they all total....

Most people simply arent capable of this....

I would argue most of these people are born this way....through Genetics, and They way they think, Their brains truly are different from ours...They Literally see things differently....

This could be what is happening with me or others....we may just have different thoughts, see the world slightly different, are brains and Thoughts may not allow us to have the absolute faith that others can find....

there truly may be something about our genetics are Brain patterns that makes us ....Us...

so NO IMO I do not believe you can be born to any one religious....But I do think its possible to be born with different genetics or thought patterns that may make it impossible to think like others, which could result in not being able to believe in God or any religious because You think and see things differently

FYI sexual orientation and gender identification are two different things. Very different things.

Sexual orientation isn't a matter of identity or identifying as whatever, not at all. It's defined by what you're drawn to, and what you do between the sheets. Like, there are men out there who have sex with other men... but who identify as straight.

Do you think they're straight because they identify as straight? Or do you think what everyone else thinks, that they're in denial or are just idiots?
