reply

That's because he's an old fart!

reply

I thought we came to some kind of a truce. This is disappointing to see.

reply

It's always disappointing to see you, Mitch. Maybe it's time for you to go the filmboards?😘

reply

This is not nice at all.

reply

Well, who said I was a nice girl???!!!

reply

No need to be rude.

reply

You know you like it.😘

reply

The name calling is unnecessary especially to new people. There are other people here who may not like that term as well.

reply

Are you being serious now, Mitch?😐

reply

yes

reply

Well, maybe, Mitch, it's perhaps also kind of unnecessary to comment on my taste in movies and music all the time??? I was kind of hesitant to mention The Room in this thread, to be honest.

If you think I'm too harsh on you, blame Dewey. He told me to keep you in line!

reply

I will endeavor to do better. There was never any malice intended on my part. I think Dewey would have gotten his point across without using childish names which some here might find offensive. That was my point.

reply

You think there was any malice on my part instead of simply a reference to a previous thread? I think the "childish name" is more confusing to anybody else rather than offensive.

Next time I'll just give you a spanking, alrighty?!

reply

Not my top 3 of favourite movies, but they're fun. Tomorrow I'll probably say something different:

1. The Room
2. Scream
3. The Usual Suspects

No need to reply, Mitch!

reply

Good list
2 are excellent and 1 is so horrible its awesome
Well done
By the way, its 'Hug a Canadian' weekend
I think you should hug a Canadian you know and love

reply

Well, CĂ©line Dion, of course! Unless you're Canadian, Shogie???

reply

How does someone watch a movie on a desert island? There can’t be any wireless reception. If there were, you could watch a ton of entertainment, not just three movies. Do you bring a portable DVD player and three discs. And when the DVD player’s batteries die . . . ? Do you download movies to your phone? If so, why stop at three, and, again, when the phone’s battery dies . . . ? For me, if I’m stuck on the proverbial, hypothetical, desert island, I’m figuring out how to bring enough water and food to keep me alive. “Entertainment” is not on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

Return of the Living Dead (1985)
First Blood (1982)
The Wanderers (1979)

Rocky II & Platoon would wash up on the beach in the coming months I'm sure.

reply

1. Manhunter
2. Let the right one in
3. The Magic Christian

reply

The Fountain
The Searchers
Hugo

Junebug (well, maybe not. As much as I love it, it might get too familiar, but I do love this film.)
Bagdad Cafe
La Strada

The Sweet Hereafter
Singing In The Rain
Casablanca

reply

Did you ever see the movie The Life of Pi? Not exactly a desert island, but about a boy and a tiger living on a boat. Really good.

reply

I know this is moviechat, but out of curiosity have you read the book?

reply

Yes.

reply

And you still think the film is really good? I haven't watched it yet, so I might.
