Movies with the most beautiful Christmas theme?

To me, Eyes Wide Shut is a superlative visual treat that really depicts the December month with its lighting and set design.

Are there any movies that really compare? I have seen quite a few films, EWS is something I can just have on in the background during the December weeks for the ambiance.

Do you mean the best Christmas story? That's it. . . a movie called A Christmas Story.

I'm sorry, I should have been a little more clear. I meant films set in December, where you truly feel that Christmas spirit. Yes, A Christmas Story has those elements, although it's aged and doesn't have the visual crispness of EWS.

I love the old Barbara Stanwyck movie " Christmas in Connecticut".

I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

You are so welcome. I haven't seen it in years, but I remember loving it! I adore her. She is my number one favorite old gal actress. This is what IMDb says : A food writer who has lied about being the perfect housewife must try to cover her deception when her boss and a returning war hero invite themselves to her home for a traditional family Christmas. Well, of course, they fall in love.

Christmas Town in Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is quite wonderful!

This, obviously, is not bad either!

Ooh Live Actually is my go-to December/Christmas movie. It perfectly depicts this time of year in the UK! xx

There’s always the best Christmas film of all time, Die Hard.

There's an old movie that I think featured Shirley Jones as an adult who finds herself alone during the holidays and somehow runs into a fellow in similar circumstance, and they fall in love as adults, and it all seemed sober and warm, a little sad until things things get better. It just seemed like a pleasant movie (probably made for TV) about realistic people, sort of.
Have no idea the title, but maybe Ms Jones' filmography would clue me in.
