Do you have any tattoos?

Because I don't.

reply

Tattoos are dumb. They really are.

If tattoos could be easily and completely removed at will, I might even have one. But to permanently disfigure one's skin makes no sense. The only people that think their tattoos look good are those that have them. To the rest of us, they look like their kids went at them with poster paints while they were taking a nap. People with tattoos look to be in constant need of a shower.

Not a tattoo man yourself, MovieMan?

Not really, but I have contemplated it. However, if I did get one, it would be on my upper arm so that the sleeve of my t shirt would hide it. I would then be able to show it off by raising the sleeve.

And if I did get one, it would be simply the word "Mom" on my upper right arm. If that went well, then I might consider getting the First Special Service Force Spearhead on my upper left arm. My later father served in the FSSF in Italy in WW II. The Spearhead Unit Patch went on the upper left arm. In this fashion, I would honor my Mother and Father, the two most important people ever in my life.

Wow! You know the nickname the Germans gave them, and thanks! I am impressed, Shogie! And yes, I also think it would make a great tattoo.

Thanks, Shogie. I appreciate that, and I know my Dad would have too. I'm also into U.S. History.
My three favorite periods are the Civil War, WW II, and the Revolutionary War. And I LOVE The
History Channel!

It has been the trend for several years now to be tattooed... Most celebs, footballers and music types that people model themselves on have them... Also, it's big with hipsters and that trend...

I think they're ugly, but they are very common now... It's a bit of a turn off and not just from a dating point of view, but it's generally a bit repulsive...

Once during a squash game my opponent lunged for the ball and his T shirt came up to expose his lower back tatoo, i.e. a tramp stamp (technical term)... The guy was an investment banker ๐Ÿ˜‚

So all sorts have them now... They used to be a mark of personal pain and such, a soldiers tatoo, the name of someone's lost parent, etc... but now they are the perminant equivalent of those velvet tracksuits with 'juicey' written on the behind...

I know a few girls who told me that their tattos were their way of claiming their bodies, of taking ownership of their forms and a reminder than nothing is perminant... As they explaines this for 45 minutes another of their friends was more honest and said it was a good ice breaker to meet people... So who knows... ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚

I would never get one...

I have respect for the tattoos that are marks of personal pain as you mentioned or one's that actually have deeper meaning that tell a story about the person that has them, but I don't like the one's that are simply there for decoration.

No

No. I think tattoos are disfiguring. Same with piercings.

Yes, I got my first one in February and Iโ€™m way up in years. It was on my โ€œbucket listโ€. Itโ€™s a 3D Butterfly ๐Ÿฆ‹ on my right ankle. I plan on getting a ๐ŸŒน on my left ankle. Then no more. I can cross tats off my bucket list.
