It still is. Which movie would you like to discuss?

No, not at all. That's what this board is for, conversation. Yes, I like noir, though it's probably not my favorite genre.
What are you favorite noir films?

I like sci-fi, mystery, thrillers, adventure and history. I'm not much into Marvel with a few notable exceptions such as Deadpool and the TV series Legion.

The three noir you mention are of course the classics. I know there are other good ones, but I can't think of any offhand. I had never heard of KCC, but I checked on IMDB, and it's rated a respectable 7.4. I might just check that out.
Thanks.

[The Asphalt Jungle]

One of the best. Louis Calhern is so freaking good there.

Jean Hagen & Hayden. They get out but it's too late.

The dirty cop played expertly by Barry Kelley. He's so good years later he expertly plays "Carol's" father on "Mr. Ed."

Grand citation, howie.

don't forget the Sam Jaffe character.

Absolutely. Though there ain't a weak spot in the entire cast.

Dexter, toning down his persona and getting it to the proper level and staying there till he's shot dead. His eyes light brilliant as the boodle is discussed with Calhern. & the bastard is ready when Hayden & Jaffe show up, but, he's a beat too slow. He pulls his piece first. You don't even see him pull it. One frame it's not there, the next it's on full display.

The scarred faced Marc Lawrence playin' "Cobby" with such precision. He's the linchpin to the first half of the movie.

It's gets better than this, but, I'll be damned if I can cite it.

howie---with a direct hit.

[White Heat]

I detest the way O'Brien's character sneaks in around "Cody" in prison. F'in' rat.
